形容詞最高級有如下用法。
一、用於「the + 最高級 + 比較範圍」結構。
舉例：
He is the tallest in his class. 他是班級裡個子最高的。
二、形容詞最高級可用序數詞及 much, by far, nearly, almost, by no means 等詞修飾。
舉例：
Of the three boys he is the second tallest. 三個男孩中，他個頭排第二。
Of the three boys he is much the tallest. 三個男孩中，他絕對算最高的。
Of the three boys he is almost the cleverest. 三個男孩中，他差不多算最聰明的。
Of the three boys he is by no means the cleverest. 三個男孩中，他絕對不算最聰明的。
三、most 若前面不加定冠詞，可以相當於 very 的用法。
舉例：
These are most useful books. 這些是非常有用的書。
四、most 修飾名詞，意為「大多數」，前面不加定冠詞。
舉例：
Most people like travelling. 大多數人喜歡旅遊。
