Hello Everybody my name is Brian and I’m from the US. I arrived in Qingdao last summer, and I』ve loved my time here very much. China has been an awakening experience for me. In China, I enjoy studying and resting. I really enjoy eating all the different types of Chinese food, in fact it one of the most important reasons I came to China. I feel that Chinese food is not only very healthy, but also very tasty and quite cheap too. Hunan Cuisine is perhaps my favorite type of Chinese food, but I also love Qingdao cuisine very much too. My goal in China is to find a suitable Chinese wife to take with me to the United States one day, to help me run my business, and to share a future family in the US and to cook wonderful Chinese.

【Vocabulary】

- 珍惜   zhēnxī   to treasure; to cherish

- 做生意  zuò shēngyì  to do business

In the US, my parents had a huge family! But I am the youngest boy, and so I am very independent. My parents raised me in Californiain a city not far from San Francisco. Just as soon as I had grown up I left my home and began a very long journey. During this journey, I started a business in the US, and then later purchased my own home. Shortly after I bought my homeI felt lonely, and so I decided I would learn Mandarin Chinese.

【Vocabulary】

- 獨立   dúlì    independently

- 創辦  chuàngbàn  establish; set up; found

- 暗暗下定決心  àn』àn xiàdìng juéxīn  Secretly made up one's mind

In the United States, I loved my little home. I never felt any stress or anxiety in my home. I was especially fond of reading books and tending a large garden in my huge backyard. At that time, I had two small dogs and they made me so happy, and they accompanied my everywhere. Dogs in China are often quite disgusting and ugly, but my dogs were clean and very well trained, and would often sleep on my bed. After all, they were getting a little old.

【Vocabulary】

- 壓力  yālì    pressure; stress

Surrounding my little home was a quiet little city, not far from the Canadian Border. There are many activities to do, especially in the mountains so impossibly tall, or on the spectacular rivers, and in the vastdesert areas, all within just a few minutes access of my city.

But spending time in Qingdao also makes me happy.

【Vocabulary】

- 四面八方  sìmiànbāfāng    all directions
