永遠愛你

A mother held her new baby and very slowly rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.And while she held him, she sang:

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living，

my baby you'll be.

一個媽媽抱著她新生的寶寶，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…一邊搖著，她一邊唱到：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…

The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house.He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator.and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet.Sometimes his mother would say, "this kid is driving me CRAZY!"

這個小寶寶慢慢長大，長啊長，長啊長…直到他長到兩歲了。他滿屋子跑，把書架上所有的書都拽下來，他把冰箱裡面所有的食物都拿出來，又把他媽媽的手錶衝下了廁所。有的時候他媽媽會無奈的說：「這個孩子真的把我弄瘋了！」

But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet,she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed;and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living,

my baby you'll be.

不過在夜幕降臨的時候，當這個兩歲的寶寶安靜下來，媽媽打開他的房門，爬過地板，從他的床邊上向上看著。如果他真的睡著了，媽媽就把這個兩歲的孩子抱起來，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…一邊搖著，她一邊唱：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…

The little boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.He grew until he was nine years old. And he never wanted to come in for dinner, he never wanted to take a bath,and when grandma visited he always said bad words. Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!

小男孩繼續長大，長啊長，長啊長…直到他九歲的時候。他從來都不願意回家吃晚飯，他從來不願意洗澡，並且當奶奶來家裡的時候他總是說話不客氣。有時候，他的媽媽甚至想把他丟到動物園去！

But at night time, when he was asleep,the mother quietly opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed.If he was really asleep, she picked up that nine-year-old boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living,

my baby you'll be.

不過在夜幕降臨的時候，當這個九歲的孩子睡著了，媽媽打開他的房門，爬過地板，從他的床邊上向上看著。如果他真的睡著了，媽媽就把這個九歲的孩子抱起來，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…一邊搖著，她一邊唱：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…

The boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music.Sometimes the mother felt like she was in a zoo!

這個男孩繼續長大，長啊長，長啊長…直到他變成了一個少年。他有一群奇怪的朋友，他穿著奇怪的衣服，他聽著奇怪的音樂。有的時候他媽媽覺得自己就生活在動物園中！

But at night time, when that teenager was asleep,the mother opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed.If he was really asleep she picked up that great big boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:I'll love you forever,I'll like you for always,As long as I'm living,my baby you'll be.

不過在夜幕降臨的時候，當這個少年睡下了，媽媽打開他的房門，爬過地板，從他的床邊上向上看著。如果他真的睡著了，媽媽就把這個大男孩抱起來，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…一邊搖著，她一邊唱：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…

That teenager grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.He grew until he was a grown-up man. He left home and got a house across town.

這個少年繼續長大，長啊長，長啊長…直到他成年了。他離開了家，搬到了城鎮的另一端的一棟房子裡。

But sometimes on dark nights the mother got into her car and drove across town.  但是有時候，當夜幕降臨的時候，媽媽會開上她的車，穿過城鎮。

If all the lights in her son's house were out, she opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed. If that great big man was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang: 

  I'll love you forever, 

 I'll like you for always, 

 As long as I'm living 

 my baby you'll be. 

如果她兒子房間的燈滅了，她會打開臥室的窗戶，爬過地板，從他的床邊向上看著。如果他真的睡著了，媽媽就把這個大男人抱起來，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…一邊搖著，她一邊唱：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…

Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older. 

One day she called up her son and said,   "You'd better come see me because I'm very old and sick." So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she- tried to sing the song. She sang: 

   I'll love you forever, 

  I'll like you for always...   

But she couldn't finish because she was too old and sick.

然而，這個媽媽，她慢慢地變老，變老…

有一天，她打電話給她的兒子說：「你最好來看我一下，因為我太老了，身體又不好…」於是她的兒子去看她，當他開門進去的時候，他的媽媽試著唱那首歌。她唱到：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你…

但是她沒能唱完，因為她太老了，身體又不好…

The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:  

 I'll love you forever,

  I'll like you for always,  

As long as I'm living  

my Mommy you'll be. 

兒子走向了她的媽媽，把她抱起來，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖…

一邊搖著，她一邊唱：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的媽媽…

When the son came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs. 

當兒子晚上回到家的時候，他在樓梯上站了好久好久…

Then he went into the room where his very new baby daughter was sleeping. He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:    I'll love you forever,  I'll like you for always,  As long as I'm living  my baby you'll be. 

接著，他走到了他新生的女兒正在睡覺的那間屋子。他把女兒抱起來，摟在懷裡，慢慢地搖啊搖，搖啊搖……

一邊搖著，他一邊唱到：

我會永遠愛著你，

我會一直愛著你，

只要我還在世上，

你就永遠是我的寶貝…
