今年是B站第三年進行年度彈幕盤點。2017年，B站首次公布了年度彈幕「囍」。去年，「真實」成為年度彈幕詞。過去十年裡，彈幕不僅成為了B站社區重要的互動方式，由此衍生出的彈幕文化，也成為記錄年輕群體及時代變遷的獨特符號。彈幕（"danmu", or "bullet comments" ）是在網絡上觀看視頻時彈出的評論性字幕。
國內首先引進彈幕的網站為AcFun，然後是Bilibili，此後，彈幕作為視頻網站逐步被發揚光大。

ACG是Anime, Comic and Games（動漫、漫畫和遊戲）的首字母縮寫。
還有一個類似的詞叫做MAG，是Manga, Anime and Games，而Manga特指日本漫畫。
這個特定的虛擬世界往往被稱之為「二次元」，英語裡只能先說成Two-dimensional space，如果要再解釋，其實就是深愛ACG這個亞文化（subculture）的人及其精神世界。
解釋這個詞，其實跟回答「把大象放進冰箱需要幾步」是一個道理。
首先，「番」來自日文「アニメ番組」，指連載的動畫/電視劇集。
英文可以這麼理解：

好了，由此擴展一下，如果要表示「瘋狂追劇、刷劇」，這該怎麼說？
答案是：binge watching/binge viewing。
Netflix幾年前做過的一項調查來界定binge watching，結果如下：

73%的人定義binge-watching是一口氣看同一部劇的4-6集甚至更多集……
Up是upload的簡寫，意思就是上傳東西。
那麼「up主」就是上傳東西的那位小主咯，網友也將其戲稱為「阿婆主」。
英文中，up主可以粗略地理解為content curators, who upload their works online，即內容創作和管理者。
