This understates what he did a bit. He admitted he was wrong, and didn't double down. He didn't have to do that, he could find a way to justify his previous statements while saying nash is a great H.C and he appreciates him. He chose to say something else.

This is how I look at it, I’m a basketball fan, and Kyrie is one of the most talented players I』ve seen in my life. I love watching him play basketball and having a talent like him flame out due to mental issues will be a tragedy. I couldn’t care less about his comments to the media in the grand scheme of things.

KD probably set his ass straight.
That's good that Irving can at least show some form of humility. People think he's this crazy madman or dickhead. He clearly has some misplaced bouts of anger issues or passive aggressive tendencies. But he's a really good dude who a lot of players in the NBA respect. Works with a lot of NBA players, donates to the WNBA, takes care of his community and is a family guy.
Hopefully, Nash can help the Nets do well. It'll only help and benefit the NBA when high level athletes are all clicking.

I think it depends how KD looks over the course of the season. If he's clearly way worse than he used to be, the expectations will be lower. No one would watch an entire season of washed ass 17 PPG KD and then go "LOL THE NETS HAD TWO SUPER STARS AND COULDNT MAKE THE ECF." I mean, someone would, but probably not the majority
On the other hand, if KD looks great this season, or even almost great (24-25 PPG is probably enough), they will def be labeled chokers if they don't make the ECF, or at least make the 2nd round highly competitive against a good team

I do wonder, would the Clips have been crucified as badly if they didn’t blow so many opportunities? They were up 3-1 of course but also up huge in many of those close out games. Like if the Nuggets just beat them 4-2 would the media have just said , oh give them another year to gel?
I think that’s what the nets will get, one year of gelling and injury comeback stories and a 2nd round exit is ok.

It depends. Perception changes a lot based on how things shake out first.
The Nuggets aren’t THAT much better than the Clippers. And it’s kind of an L that they were even down like that in the first place. However they made up for it and it’s a bigger L for the clips for losing 3 straight.
If they』d traded wins and then came back from 2-3 to win it I don’t think the Clippers would be mocked like they were.
