Kelly Clarkson的第五張專輯Stronger的靈感來源包括許多很有影響力的歌手，包括、蒂娜·特納、電臺司令樂隊、雪兒·克羅和艾瑞莎·弗蘭克林等，並請來曾與惠特妮·休斯頓合作的製作人Rodney Jerkins來操刀製作。
在第55屆葛萊美獎頒獎典禮上，專輯Stronger獲得最佳流行演唱專輯提名，本專輯中的Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)一曲獲得年度最佳錄音和年度最佳歌曲兩項提名，而Kelly本人憑藉這一曲也獲得最佳流行歌手提名。最終，本專輯贏得第55屆格萊美最佳流行演唱專輯大獎。
