Trus'me上月派對的餘溫未了，我們又緊鑼密鼓在中秋假期前夜（9月14日）奉上Bye Bye Disco 8周年慶的第二波派對。這一次，我們邀請來在全球Techno音樂場景中佔有舉足輕重地位的法國DJ、製作人Citizen Kain作為我們的慶生嘉賓，一起掀開中秋假期的序幕！

巧合的是，2008年，當Bye Bye Disco踩著復古迪斯科的浪漫節拍，掀起本土設計復興的新浪潮之時，遠在地球另一端的Citizen Kain則在著名廠牌MBF下發行了單曲《Doppelgaenger》。就像一枚空投火藥，這首逐漸響徹於幾乎每個地下俱樂部的現象級金曲，也成為打響他個人國際聲譽的第一炮。這位在地下舞池世界裡玩弄聲音魔術、操控舞客情緒已20年有餘的前輩，帶著他的廠牌Neverending與Bye Bye Disco共享著成長軌跡。從早年的後朋克、迪斯科，到新浪潮，再到如今的浩室、科技舞曲，無數銳舞青年都沿著這條路子，一路縱情跳舞，浪跡在每一個混合著菸草與啤酒花氣味的光亮舞池，就像每一個夜晚都不曾迎來過白日。

Citizen Kain這個朗朗上口的藝名是不是讓你聯想到上世紀40年代的藝術電影《公民凱恩(Citizen Kane)》？其實，在大大小小的採訪中，作為DJ/製作人的Citizen Kain本人從不忌諱談及這一點。這個名字含有他對這部偉大的藝術電影投以愛意的私心，當然，除此之外，他也覺得自己就像是電影裡的那個主角——Citizen Kain也有自己的雙重身份與生活，曾經的他白天是一家影碟店的店員，晚上則是地下舞廳裡的常客。在初踏進電子跳舞音樂這一行時，對於電子樂的偏愛，對象徵著欲望與歡愉的跳舞文化的坦蕩，便是Citizen Kain之於《公民凱恩》裡的Kane那個關於「Rosebud」的隱秘暗語。
Citizen Kain的個人故事，其實始於上世紀90年代初的法國南部：青年時代的他，跟大多數音樂青年一樣，玩吉他，也成立自己的樂隊吼一兩嗓子，浸泡在搖滾樂與新浪潮的浪漫氛圍中成長起來。從Joy Division、The Cure到New Order、Depeche Mode，這些屬於90年代的創造者給了Citizen Kain有關電子音樂創作的啟蒙與想像。1993年，年輕的Citizen Kain參加了人生當中的第一個銳舞派對（想想早期的Daft Punk和那個時候的法國地下電子音樂場景）。這場派對給他帶來的震懾是巨大的，他從此愛上了House和Techno音樂。此後，他買入了控制臺與效果器，開始在當地派對上放音樂。經歷一定時間的厚積薄發，10年後的2005年，Citizen Kain開啟了個人的製作人道路，並發行了第一張唱片。同年，Citizen Kain和三五DJ好友創立了自己的跳舞音樂廠牌Neverending。
2008年，Citizen Kain發行了《Doppelgaenger》，其中同名單曲《Doppelgaenger》這個略顯冗長生澀的德文單詞絲毫沒有影響跳舞愛好者對這首曲子的喜愛，它迅速席捲了當時的各大地下俱樂部，掀翻了幾乎每一場人聲鼎沸的跳舞派對的屋頂。從這張單曲開始，Citizen Kain收穫了屬於自己的國際聲譽，將自己個人風格濃厚的French Techno傳播到了全球樂迷挑剔的耳朵裡。
Citizen Kain在Soundcloud已經擁有19.6K歌迷，這個數字還在增長。當被媒體問及該如何形容他自己的音樂創作時，Citizen Kain這樣回答道：「我的音樂是一種House和Techno的有機混合體，它受到了當今世上存在的所有音樂流派的影響，往往呈現出文化源流上的豐富性與音韻上的無窮律動」。
Citizen Kain的音樂製作技巧具有相當的獨創性：他把節奏所具有的效率性，巧妙地融入到悅耳的旋律與豐富的情緒感知之中。他的音樂大多表現為粗糲而生猛的Techno形式，帶有極簡主義的審慎魅力卻又不落於Minimal的單調窠臼，提供著始終重視旋律性的優美低音，而顯現出令人想一探究竟的神秘色彩。其實，想要定義Citizen Kain的音樂風格，而不在一大堆華麗而隱晦的形容詞堆裡迷失，這幾乎是不太可能的。當你獨自在他的個人Soundcloud頁面聽著他製作的海量Set時，你似乎只能感嘆詞不達意，而只想呼朋喚友，親臨現場去感受其中奧秘並整夜不停息。
時至今日，Citizen Kain已經成為當今地下跳舞音樂版圖裡一個舉足輕重的存在。他進行著非常密集的全球範圍巡演。翻看他的個人網站，你會發現，巡演日程表被排的滿滿當當，從德國柏林的俱樂部到南非開普敦的音樂節，來自世界各地的形形色色的俱樂部和音樂節備安插在了每一個周末，甚至是工作日。當然，低調的他把剩餘的時間都交給了錄音室。在這些高產而高效的音樂製作時光中，他已經與包括Laurent Garnier、Maceo Plex、Adam Beyer等業內知名的音樂人進行過緊密的合作。此外，由他一手創立的廠牌Neverending也已經發行了60多張唱片，其中更包含了像Kiko、SecretCinema、Kolombo、Worakls這些迷人的名字。

None of us know what Bruno retains from Orson Wells or Kane, and surely wecould relate his music to the timeless apologues of the american director andto God's cursed son but Citizen Kain has now became a proper name around thetechno scene and one of his main actor, almost relegating these mythicalreferences to mere anecdotes.
It didn't take millenaries, nor one century but only half a decade for thefrench DJ to divert us from it and to demonstrate the evenly universality ofhis compositions. Escaped from his juvenile punk times, survivor of thenineties's rave ambient, he, from 2005 and now on, eagerly produce a sharptechno, invariably wavy and contemporary, adapting with his personality whatgoes trough and agitate it. It's barely impossible to define Citizen Kain'sstyle without getting lost with tortuous adjectives. Prolific author, eithercompulsive, he takes on every techno genders smoothly with an experiencedtechnique: he combines a rhythm efficiency, an undisputed go with a variedmelodious sensibility. He refines all the themes he uses in his music,conserving the very essential, the few notes and sounds that reveal its power.He pushes his effort toward the public, craving for its immediate pleasures. Hebuilds each of his sets with the same and constant preoccupation: get theaudience involved with his music, unanimously clasped by its twisted energy andsurrounded by the mere and heavy emotion resulting.
Thus it's not surprising to see the variety, ashis talents are that polyvalent, of the personalities gaging his production:Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Slam, Martin Eyerer, Agoria, Tomcraft, Len Faki,Maetrik, Monika Kruse, Dave Clarke, John Acquaviva, Joseph Capriati, MihalisSafras ... so many monuments of the electronic music who also back his ownlabel established in 2009: Neverending. Not only an usual stage in a successfulcareer, its the occasion for him to spread further his creativity and narrowhis scope too. The label communicate discreetly, concentrating all its energiesin the work of sound, keeping away all the superficial aspects of the industryto produce the sound that bustles the clubs. The french label will celebrateits third year of passionate dedication to dance floors soon.
