永遠愛你
今天分享的是《Love You Forever》，這是一本不尋常的繪本，每個讀過它的人，都會被感動的流下淚來。溫暖，治癒，動情，獲得了良好的口碑和超高的讚譽。從1986年出版以來，全球銷售逾一千六百萬冊。作者Robert Munsch是加拿大人，為兒童創作了二十多本文學作品，並多次獲獎。
A mother held her new baby
and very slowly rocked him back and forth,
back and forth, back and forth.
And while she held him, she sang:
靜靜的夜裡，
一個媽媽抱著她剛出生的小寶寶，
輕輕的把他摟在懷裡，
輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱著……
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living，
在媽媽的心裡，
my baby you'll be.
你是我永遠的寶貝。
The baby grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.
小寶寶長大了，他一天天、一天天的長大了。
He grew until he was two years old, and he ran all around the house.
當他兩歲大時，他開始滿屋子亂跑，
He pulled all the books off the shelves. He pulled all the food out of the refrigerator.
把書架上的書推倒，把冰箱門開開關關玩不停，
and he took his mother's watch and flushed it down the toilet.
還把媽媽的手錶丟進馬桶裡衝掉。
Sometimes his mother would say, "this kid is driving me CRAZY!"
媽媽氣得想大叫："這個小傢伙真讓我受不了！"
But at night time, when that two-year-old was quiet,
但是一到了晚上，當這個小傢伙安安靜靜的躺在床上時，
she opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor, looked up over the side of his bed;
媽媽會推開房門，悄悄的爬到他的床邊，看他是不是睡著了。
and if he was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. While she rocked him she sang:
然後，輕輕的把他摟在懷裡，輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱著：
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living,
在媽媽的心裡，
my baby you'll be.
你是我永遠的寶貝。
The little boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.
小男孩長大了，他一天天、一天天的長大了。
He grew until he was nine years old. And he never wanted to come in for dinner, he never wanted to take a bath,
當他九歲大時，他開始不想吃飯，不愛洗澡，
and when grandma visited he always said bad words. Sometimes his mother wanted to sell him to the zoo!
還常和外婆頂嘴，媽媽氣得真想把他關進動物園的籠子裡！
But at night time, when he was asleep,
但是一到了晚上，當這個小男孩安安靜靜的躺在床上時，
the mother quietly opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed.
媽媽會推開房門，悄悄的爬到他的床邊，看他是不是睡著了。
If he was really asleep, she picked up that nine-year-old boy and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:
然後，輕輕的把他摟在懷裡，輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱著：
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living,
在媽媽的心裡，
my baby you'll be.
你是我永遠的寶貝。
The boy grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.
男孩長大了，他一天天、一天天的長大了。
He grew until he was a teenager. He had strange friends and he wore strange clothes and he listened to strange music.
他長成了一個大男孩。他交了一些奇怪的朋友，穿著奇怪的衣服，唱著奇怪的歌。
Sometimes the mother felt like she was in a zoo!
有時媽媽覺得他簡直就是動物園來的。
But at night time, when that teenager was asleep,
但是一到了晚上，當這個大男孩安安靜靜的躺在床上時，
the mother opened the door to his room, crawled across the floor and looked up over the side of the bed.

That teenager grew. He grew and he grew and he grew.
大男孩長大了，他一天一天的長大了。
He grew until he was a grown-up man. He left home and got a house across town.
現在已經是一個大人了。他離開了家，在城裡買了一棟自己的房子。
But sometimes on dark nights the mother got into her car and drove across town.
但有幾個晚上，媽媽會開著車穿過城市...
If all the lights in her son's house were out, she opened his bedroom window, crawled across the floor, and looked up over the side of his bed.
但當兒子房間的燈都暗了時，媽媽會打開上他臥室的窗，悄悄爬到他的床邊。
If that great big man was really asleep she picked him up and rocked him back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while she rocked him she sang:
然後，輕輕的把他摟在懷裡，輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱著：
I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living,
在媽媽的心裡，

Well, that mother, she got older. She got older and older and older.
一天又一天、一年又一年過去了，媽媽也變得愈來愈老了。
One day she called up her son and said,
有一天，她打電話給兒子，對他說：
"You'd better come see me because I'm very old and sick."
「你找個時間回來看看我這個生病的老人吧！」
So her son came to see her. When he came in the door she tried to sing the song. She sang:
當兒子回到家時，媽媽依然像往常一樣，輕輕的唱著：
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
But she couldn't finish because she was too old and sick.
但是她只唱了這兩句，就虛弱得無法唱下去了。
The son went to his mother. He picked her up and rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And he sang this song:
這時，兒子走向媽媽，輕輕的把她摟在懷裡，輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱著：
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living,
在我的心裡，
my Mommy you'll be.
你是我永遠的媽媽。
When the son came home that night, he stood for a long time at the top of the stairs.
那天晚上，當兒子回家以後，他在房門口，默默的站了很久很久。
Then he went into the room where his very new baby daughter was sleeping.
然後，他走進小女兒的房間裡，
He picked her up in his arms and very slowly rocked her back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. And while he rocked her he sang:
輕輕的把這個睡夢中的小寶寶摟在懷裡， 輕輕的搖啊搖，輕輕的唱起了：
I'll love you forever,
我永遠愛你，
I'll like you for always,
我永遠疼你，
As long as I'm living,
在爸爸的心裡，
my baby you'll be.
