女王萬歲! All hail the Queen!

10月31日，2017君度女王調酒比賽在北京東景緣落幕，來自深圳Ciao Amici酒吧的Lola劉舒婷獲得了本屆的冠軍。連續五年，這場以女性為主角的比賽見證了中國女性調酒行業的進步，支持了無數女調酒師的事業。在這樣一個最靚麗的舞臺上，我們的女英雄們抓住了每一個可能的機會為自己發聲，展示自己高超的調酒技術和獨特人格魅力。

On October 31, the curtains came down on the 2017 Cointreau Queens Cocktail Competition, held in TRB in Beijing, with Lola from Ciao Amici winning this year’s Cointreau Queens crown. For the last five years, this display of girl power has witnessed the advancement of women in bartending and propelled female bartenders』 careers around China. Given a stage to perform, our bar heroines have taken every opportunity to let their voices, skills and personalities be showcased on a national stage.

十位決賽選手由來自五個分賽區（北京、上海、深圳、重慶和臺灣）的冠亞軍組成。在兩輪以君度橙酒為基酒的原創雞尾酒對決後，專業評審、媒體和大眾評審共同評選出了今年的總冠軍。雖然十組選手的表現都十分精彩，但畢竟女王的皇冠只有一個——來自深圳Ciao Amici酒吧的Lola劉舒婷摘得了「2017君度女王」的桂冠。這似乎是向全國宣告著，深圳是下一座不容小覷的雞尾酒之都。「每組選手表現都不俗，大家很有各自的風格。」決賽評委Lynnette Marrero評論說。

The ten ladies heading to the finals were winners of five regionals that began in August – Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Taiwan. After two rounds testing their skills making Cointreau-based creative cocktails, a distinguished panel of industry leaders, the media and consumers all cast their vote to pick this year’s ultimate winner. The ten teams put on an impressive show, but ultimately, it was Lola and her team mates from Ciao Amici in Shenzhen who took this year’s prize, showing the rest of the country that their southern metropolis is the next big thing to watch when it comes to cocktails in China. 「It was so hard to narrow it down to one team that really stood out from the rest, as there were so many different styles on show,」 Lynnette Marrero, the judge from America commented.

在做調酒師之前，女王Lola是位設計師，會從藝術、抽象概念，甚至烹飪書籍中尋找做酒的靈感。這杯君度女王比賽的獲獎之作就是被一部時裝大片所激發。「我覺得衣服的造型和顏色搭配很浪漫，很像下過雨之後的花園一般，」Lola解釋說。「使用君度橙酒來搭配是很適合的。它不僅是法國標誌性的高質量橙味利口酒，同時也代表了女性力量的崛起。」

Previously working as a designer, Queen Lola derives her inspiration for her drinks from art and cookbooks. Her winning drink for Cointreau Queens took a cue from a fashion video she found online. 「I was intrigued by its styling and romantic colours. The video made me feel like I was in a garden after rain,」 Lola explains. 「Cointreau turned out to be perfect for the drink too. It is more than a high-quality orange liqueur that originated from France; it also stands for the rise of women.」

50ml Cointreau 君度橙酒

15ml Beetroot juice 甜菜頭汁

2 ds Rhubarb bitters 大黃苦精

10ml Lime juice 青檸汁

2 bsp Octomore 泥煤怪獸威士忌

1 bsp White wine vinegar 白葡萄酒醋

 Champagne 香檳

將原料搖勻，放入蝶形香檳杯。在上部倒滿香檳，並以食用花和金箔裝飾。

Shake ingredients and serve in a champagne coupe. Top up with champagne. Garnish with edible flowers and gold leaf.

作為一位女調酒師，Lola認為中國的調酒行業對女調酒師還是抱有很支持開放的態度。「即使我在2012年入行時被差別對待，但現在這種情況應該很少了。我非常建議女調酒師們參加諸如君度女王的調酒比賽。參賽可以幫助你克服瓶頸期，開闊眼界。比賽其實沒有所謂的輸和贏，享受它吧。」

As a female in bartending, Lola believes that people in the trade have a pretty open attitude towards women in China. 「Even though I was treated pretty unfairly when I first started bartending in 2012, things have definitely changed now. I strongly encourage female bartenders to give cocktail competitions like Cointreau Queens a go. It』ll be pivotal in helping you overcome any career bottlenecks you might be facing, and broaden your horizons. Win or lose, just enjoy it,」 says Lola.

來自深圳RMK Second Floor酒吧的Luffy盧曉璐及隊友，則將「2017君度女王最佳決賽團隊」的榮譽捧回了家。這是君度女王首次設置該獎項，在第一輪比拼中得分落後的五個團隊，將和前五名團隊配對，幫助他們完成在第二輪的比拼。這場精彩的決賽之夜表演，離不開團隊的支持，君度女王希望能以此鼓勵優秀的團隊合作者，讓調酒師們互相學習、共同進步，加深彼此的情誼。

Also receiving special mention at the competition was Luffy and her team from RMK Second Floor in Shenzhen, who took home the Best Supporting Team award. Given out for the first time this year, the five teams eliminated in the first round at the finals were each assigned to cheer on another team in the final bout, who were also crucial to the awesome finale performance. This award was initiated by Cointreau to encourage the teams to learn from each other and strengthen their bonds during the competition.
