小松鼠和大黑熊是鄰居，他們生活在一個經濟繁榮、花果扶疏的小鎮上。
A little squirrel and a big black bear were neighbors.
They lived in a prosperous small town with various flowers and fruits.
這個小鎮可不是一個一般的小鎮，為什麼這樣說呢？
The town was not common. Why to say this?
因為，這裡開著 一種美麗的花樹，是別的地方所沒有的，而且在這兒，也只有一株。
That was because here grew a kind of beautiful flower tree.
The plant could not be found in any other place. And there was only one here.
大樹開著像天空和海水一樣的藍色的花，一串一串的，隨風搖曳。
The color of the flowers was blue like the sky and the sea water.
The strings of flowers swayed in the wind.
據當地人說，每當春季，藍色的花綻放的時候，如果有誰看到了它，就會實現一個美好的願望。
According to the local people, every spring, when the tree had blue flowers, if anyone saw it, he would realize a dream.
小松鼠是個勤勞的人，這是左鄰右舍有目共睹的。
The little squirrel was diligent, which could be seen by all people in the neighbourhood.
大象爺爺經常對大家說：「像他這樣勤奮的孩子一定會有一個好的前程的」
The old elephant often said to others, 「it’s certain that he, being such a diligent person, will have a good future 」
鎮上每家每戶都有一個大花園，但是只有小松鼠的花園一年四季都有花開。
Every household in the town had a big garden. While only in the little squirrel’s garden, there were coming out flowers in every season of the year.
初春時節，當西北風還在呼呼吹著的時候，臘梅就開放了，然後是山茶、海棠、桃花、玫瑰。
In early spring, when the northwest wind blew hard, the blossoms of winter-sweet came out, then those of camellia, begonia, peach and rose trees.
等到春天過去了，夏季來臨的時候，石榴花又吐出了鮮紅的花蕾。
When spring ended and summer came, The pomegranate flowers spit out its bright red buds.
到了秋天，菊花又開得絢爛多姿起來。
In autumn, chrysanthemums were in full bloom splendidly.
冬天是寒冷的，可是園子裡的梅花是最不怕冷的，它們在寒風白雪中傲然開放著。
Winter is cold. But the plum blossoms in the garden were the mot unafraid of the coldness. They proudly opened out in the chilly wind and white snow.
大黑熊家就完全不一樣了，他每天除了吃就是睡，花園裡荒蕪一片，對他來說：懶惰是一件特別享受的事。他的熊媳婦經常責怪他，說：「看看人家小松鼠，再看看你！真是一個天上，一個地下。」
The condition in the big black bear’s house was quite different .
Every day he was eating something or sleeping. the garden in his house was wasted. For him, being lazy was a kind of thing particularly enjoyable.
His wife often scolded him. 「just look at the squirrel and yourself. You are so different like heaven and earth.」
「那有什麼？他整日裡那麼辛苦，多沒福氣！只有傻子才那麼熱愛勞動。」大黑熊不屑地說。
「Anything useful? He works so hard everyday. Only silly people with no good luck love working in that way. 」the big black bare said disdainfully.
「他不會白努力的。等著瞧吧！」熊媳婦說，然後翻了個身，不理大黑熊了。
「His efforts will not be wasted. Just look！」the bear wife turned over and ignored him.
小松鼠除了喜歡經營他美麗的花園外，還開了一家點心店。
Despite liking managing his beautiful garden, the little squirrel operated a pastry shop.
每天天還不亮，他就去田地裡採摘蔬菜了，他要用最新鮮的食材做點心餡。
Every day when it was still dark, he would go to the field to pick vegetables.
He would like to use the most fresh vegetables as fillings of pastries.
回來後，就開始揉麵團，然後把點心放在烤箱裡烤起來。
After coming back, he would knead the dough, then he put them in the oven to bake.
小松鼠的點心店可有名了，鎮上的人們每天要排著隊，才能買得到。
The pastry shop was so famous that all people, if they wanted to buy some, should have to queue up.
而大黑熊家呢？經常吃了上頓沒下頓，善良的小松鼠經常幫助他們家，送給他們一些點心。
How about the big black bear’s family? They often had no food for another meal.
The kind little squirrel often helped them by sending them some pastries.
又是一年的春天，這一天，傳來了一個驚人的消息，國王和王后要大駕光臨了。
Another spring comes. This day, there came a surprising news, the king and the queen would come to the town.
因為他們聽說看一眼盛開著的藍花，就可以滿足一個願望，而他們太想要一個孩子了，他們試了好多辦法，多沒成功，這是他們最後的希望了。
They heard that if anyone took a look at the tree with blue flowers in full bloom, he would fulfill one dream. They wanted too much to have a child. But they failed after every effort. This was their last hope.
國王和王后在花樹下許了願，忽然覺得有點累了。經過了旅途勞頓，他們想吃點東西，歇歇腳。
They made a wish under the tree. Suddenly,they felt hungry,
After a long travel, they felt tired and wanted to eat something.
陪同的鎮長對他們說：「陛下，不如我帶你們去嘗一嘗我們鎮上的松鼠點心店的點心吧！順便在他家的花園裡歇歇腳。」
The town leader accompanying them said: 「Your majesty, may I lead the way for you to the little squirrel’s pastry shop in the town to have a taste of the pastries and have a rest in his garden?
國王和王后同意了，於是，他們一起來到了小松鼠的家。
The king and the queen agreed. So they came to the house of the little squirrel together.
小松鼠拿出自己最拿手的點心款待他們。國王和王后吃了點心，都覺得香甜可口，回味無窮。
The squirrel presented his best made pastries to serve them. the king and the queen ate the food and they felt they were so sweet and delicious that they could not forget their favour.
國王高興地說：「這是我吃過的最好吃的點心了。」
The king said gladly : 「These are the best pastries I have ever eaten.」
於是，他命人取來紙筆，為點心鋪題了幾個字，寫道：「第一點心鋪」。
So, he had the paper and brush brought and wrote a few words 「The No. 1 Pastry Shop」
從此，小松鼠的點心鋪就有了新名字了，不用說，店裡的生意越來越紅火了，收入翻了好幾倍。
大黑熊看到小松鼠過上了富有的生活，心裡也挺羨慕的。
From then on, the pastry shop of the squirrel had a new name. Needless to say, the business is better and better. The income was multiplied several times.
When the big black bear saw that the little squirrel led a rich life, he felt rather envious.
小松鼠看出了他的心思，就對他說：「不如，你來我的店裡幫忙吧，我正好缺幾個人手。更可況，你也該努力做點事了，老那麼懶惰可是不行的呀。」
The squirrel leaned this and said to him: 「Would you like to help me in my shop. I am looking for a few helpers. And, what’s more, you need to find some work to do. It is not good for you to be so lazy like before for ever.」
金秋時節，院子裡的石榴樹果實纍纍。
