Taylor Swift always has a trick or two up her sleeve. The superstar dropped her second surprise album of 2020, Evermore, on Dec. 11, 2020, in anticipation of her upcoming 31st birthday. The sister companion to July's hit EP, Folklore, Evermore "travels further into the forest" of the "folklorian woods," with poetic lyrics inspired by "both imaginary/not imaginary tales."

While fans are still digging through all of Evermore’s easter eggs and drumming up romantic theories about all the things Swift could be hinting at (an update to her relationship status with Joe Alwyn, perhaps?), others are simply busy trying to decide their favorite song on Evermore so far. 大概是從高三開始聽taylor swift的歌曲，那個時候我還不太會欣賞鄉村音樂，由於我本身也是個非常喜歡音樂的人，對英語也有非常濃厚的興趣，當時純粹是覺得這個女生唱歌咬字清晰，聲音乾淨獨特（當然還有顏值高），適合用來作為英語學習的素材，所以就這樣掉進了Taylor的坑。
如果你也是黴粉，你也一定知道Taylor的許多歌曲寫的都是自己，從青蔥少女第一次對男生有好感（have a crush on sb. for the first time）到之後寫了一系列講述前任和失戀的歌曲（a lengthy catalogue of hits in which she plays scorned exes and lovelorn balladeers），最後轉型步入流行樂壇（evolution into pop music behemoth）。Taylor就像一個大姐姐一樣，在你耳邊娓娓道來這些年來的遭遇，你看著她從一個不諳世事的鄉村音樂女孩成長為一個強大的流行天后，似乎你也在跟她一起經歷著這一切。
而遠非只是講述個人故事，在Taylor的作品中，一定也有一部分是在講述著你的故事。
新專輯發行兩天，把所有的歌都聽完了，很喜歡這張專輯，所以我會繼續分享這張專輯中所有歌曲的創作故事。今天要講的是歌曲《Tolerate It》。
歌曲《Tolerate It》分析
Tolerate It 字面意思為「忍受它」，歌曲伊始的鋼琴獨奏就已經把人帶入悲傷的氛圍，那它講述的是一個什麼樣的故事呢？
「Tolerate It」 is a brooding and melancholic song that appears in Swift’s famously heartwrenching Track No. 5 spot on her new album Evermore，and was co-written by Swift’s frequent collaborator, The National’s Aaron Dessner. 《Tolerate It》是一首陰沉憂鬱的歌曲，出現在專輯《Evermore》第五首歌的位置，由與Taylor經常合作的Aaron Dessner聯合創作。
The fifth track is always the most emotional, tear-jerking song on the album.It always follows a sad, heart-wrenching story about Taylor’s past, usually about one of her relationships or her emotions and anxieties in life. However, given Swift's happy relationship with Joe Alwyn, this is clearly not an autobiographical tale, but there's a chance it has roots in other ill-fated romances.

Swift said that some songs on the album belong to "the 'unhappily ever after' anthology of marriages gone bad that includes infidelity, ambivalent, toleration and even murder." 斯威夫特說這張專輯中一些歌曲在講述的是「婚後的不幸生活」，包括出軌，變心，忍耐，甚至是謀殺。
"Tolerate it" is a deeply sad song that weaves the story of a woman who's not being treated by her husband the way she deserves to be; rather, he's simply "tolerating" her. While she cleans the house until it's "glistening" and "waits" patiently for her husband, his marital infidelity only leads to further dissolution of their marriage.
