'貴'是expensive, 那'非常貴'呢? 別老說very expensive!

今天豆豆去逛國貿，進去後豆豆傻眼了，只能do window shopping了, 因為裡面的東西太「貴」了！！

 「貴」的英語是expensive，那「非常貴」呢， 除了expensive， very expensive, 你還會其他的說法來表達「貴」嗎？

#=very expensive

I wanna buy that Cucci handbag, but it's a bit pricey.

我想買那個古馳包，但有點貴。

大家對exclusive最熟悉的意思是「獨家的」，「獨有的」

比如，

exclusive right: 獨家版權

exclusive shoes: 獨有的鞋子

exclusive也可以用來描述商品非常貴， 貴到available only to people who have a lot of money。

Don't enter in. It's an exclusive shop.

別進去， 這是一家有錢人才消費得起的店。

I don't have much money to afford this pair of extravagant shoes.

我買不起這雙昂貴的鞋。

#調侃式地說「貴」

在中文裡， 我們常常會用「賣腎」「搶銀行」等來調侃某個東西貴， 英文裡也有這樣的說法。

-He  bought his girlfriend a necklace, but it really costed him an arm and a leg.

他給女友買了一根項鍊， 但真的花了他一大筆錢。

to break the bank = to cost all the money you have in the bank; more commonly used in the negative form to not break the bank when you want to say that something is expensive, but not that expensive.

-Getting a new bag won't break the bank.

買一個包包不會讓你傾家蕩產的。

它可以用來指商品的價格unfair, unreasonable, 以至於讓消費者pay through the nose

Why did you pay through the nose for a second-hand car? 

你為什麼花那麼多錢去買一輛二手車？

It costs me a small fortune to get this house.

買這套房子花了我一筆小錢。
