一提到lady, 首先想到的是ladies and gentlemen, lady first，今天再介紹幾個lady的相關表達，有趣又實用。
Lady fingers.相比男性，女士的手指通常細長柔軟些，lady fingers是烘焙領域的詞彙，一種餅乾，細長如女士的手指, Every time when I don’t know how to pronounce the names of different cookies in bakery ,I often order lady fingers. 每次在烘焙店裡叫不上那些餅乾名字的時候，我通常只點lady fingers.
還有，我曾在杜拜工作過，那裡有家知名的烤魚店，魚的種類繁多，名字十分複雜不好發音，我看了半天點不出來，直到名叫lady fingers的魚映入眼帘，我像抓住救命稻草般指著那魚對服務生說」yeah, lady fingers, finally got it!」 終於找到它了，我就點lady fingers這唯一看得懂名字的魚。這魚絕對是魚界的模特，細長筆直，就像lady fingers.看到了吧，lady fingers是描述性極強的跨界用詞，當遇到外形修長但叫不出名字的東西時，可以伸出手指邊比劃邊說 it is sth like ……just like lady fingers! 萬一猜對了呢，比如....秋葵。
Ladies room.是化妝間和女廁所的統稱，化妝間還有個名字叫powder room 補粉的房間，這個就很生動了；toilet是馬桶的意思，W.C是water closetd 的縮寫，英國常用語，而bathroom是書面語，女廁所還是ladies room最不容易產生歧義。Hold on !That is the men’s room, ladies is upstairs! 等會兒等會兒，這是男廁所，女廁在樓上，別進錯了！
Ladies man .女人的男人？像女人的男人？都不是，It means someone who is good at attracting and talking to women.受女性歡迎的擅長和女人打交道的男人，或者說泡妞高手，和 lady killer, playboy意思差不多， Jack is a good looking guy and a smooth talker, he always has 2 or more women interested in him ,he is such a ladies man ! 相貌英俊，能說會道的Jack有十足的女人緣，身邊至少有兩三個女人相伴。smooth talker粗暴理解為能把話說得很平順的人，指的是能言善辯，巧舌如簧的郭德綱們。
Young lady. 東方女性喜歡被稱呼為女孩，小姑娘，小姐姐什麼的，越顯嫩越歡喜，西方女孩更希望被稱為young lady,年輕的女士， 比如， Don’t call me a girl, I am a young lady !!!儘管她也許剛剛成年。Young lady 是西方女性最喜歡被稱呼的title之一。
treat her like a lady.不是像個女人一樣對待她，而是請像lady first 那樣把她當成淑女一樣去尊重，別欺負她，別打她罵她之類的意思。Treat her like a lady , you will make a good girl crazy if you don’t treat her like a lady .好好尊重她，別把好好一個女孩逼成一個瘋子，這句歌詞源自Celine Dion的歌《Treat her like a lady 》,她最暢銷的歌曲之一。
Lady boy .人妖。比如，lady boy makes Thailand an attractive spot to travel to. 人妖使得泰國令人神往。Spot是景點的意思。
