原文：《I Don't Like the Crust!》
Early in the morning when I first get out of bed,
my bunny slippers bouncing,
my tummy ready to be fed.
Daddy is cooking breakfast.
We are happy, there is no fuss.
Then I look down and see my toast,
and there is that yucky crust!
I do not like the crust.
It is dry and hard and thick.
Thinking about that awful crust makes my tummy sick.
Mommy takes a bite, as I am about to cry.
She smiles and says, "Yummy!"
then whispers, "Have a try!"
I open my mouth up wide and close my eyes so tight.
I chomp down on that yucky crust and take a great big bite.
I chew and chew some more and then I stand and say:
"Hey this crust ain't so bad!
I think I'll eat it everyday!"
Now each day at breakfast,
you will be glad to hear,
I don't cry when I see the crust.
Instead I give a cheer!

A little monster lives in Jimmy's room.
The monster is scared of everything.
Jimmy does not know about the monster.
It sleeps under his bed.
The monster wants to scare Jimmy.
But the monster is too scared.
Jimmy is not scared of anything.
He sees a tail under his bed!
He is not afraid.
Jimmy pulls the tail.
WOW! It's a monster!
The monster tries to run away.
"Who are YOU?" Jimmy asks.
The monster is scared.
He won't talk.
"What's your name?" says Jimmy.
"Freddy," says the little monster.
"Why haven't you scared me?" Jimmy asks.
"Because I'm so scared of you," Freddy says.
