最近，「檸檬臉挑戰」在國外社交網站走紅，參與者需要吃一大口檸檬，錄下自己的反應發到網上，並點名他人參與挑戰。這項挑戰由公益組織「Aubreigh’s Army」發起，目的是為喚起社會對晚期腦癌患者的關注。
為了努力喚起社會對晚期腦癌患者的關注，人們紛紛將自己吃檸檬時的滑稽表情發到網上。
什麼是「Lemon Face Challenge」（檸檬臉挑戰）？
The 『Lemon Face Challenge』asks participants to eat a big portion of lemon, record their reaction, post it online and challenge someone else.
「檸檬臉挑戰」要求參與者吃掉一大塊檸檬，錄下自己的反應，並發到網上向他人挑戰。
據《華盛頓郵報》報導，
the new challenge is inspired by an organization called Aubreigh’s Army, which supports the fight against Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an aggressive type of terminal brain cancer.
這個新挑戰由「Aubreigh’s Army」發起，該組織為擴散型內因性腦橋神經膠質瘤（DIPG）患者提供幫助，DIPG是一種惡性晚期腦癌。
2017年9月，11歲的Aubreigh Nicholas被確診患上DIPG，「Aubreigh’s Army」希望為她籌集5萬美元（約合人民幣31萬元）的醫療費。
Aubreigh的父親Jay Nicholas是這樣描述自己的女兒的：
She's always been friendly. She always danced she was around 3 years old. That's her favorite thing. Schoolwork straight A
三歲左右。生性對人友好，極度喜歡跳舞。學樣成績A。
在《華盛頓郵報》的報導中，還稱這個女孩很「勇敢」：
What you need to know about Aubreigh is that while kind, caring, and obsessed with crafts and dance, she is FIERCE. DIPG won't stop this kid!
關於Aubreigh你只需要知道，她是一個善良、體貼，並且熱愛手工和舞蹈的女孩，她很勇敢。DIPG是打不倒這個孩子的。
報導呼籲所有人為這個孩子以及患有類似病症的孩子獻出愛心，並以「檸檬臉運動挑戰」的形式傳遞。
於是，這項挑戰席捲網絡（sweeping across the internet）。
阿拉巴馬州足球教練尼克·薩邦（Nick Saban）首先欣然接受挑戰，為Aubreigh吃下一大塊檸檬（a big wedge of lemon）。
他表示，他們不知道以何種方式讓大眾了解並認識這種病症。同時也不知道這個「檸檬臉挑戰」會不會火起來。
We just sat around and thought up ways we could bring about awareness and this is what came to mind.We had no idea it was going to take off.
不久後，洛杉磯道奇隊（the Los Angeles Dodgers）也接受挑戰（accepted the challenge）並點名（nominated）亞利桑那響尾蛇隊（ the Arizona Diamondbacks）應戰。
為了支持Aubreigh，美國各地的人們都在參與「檸檬臉挑戰」。
美國共和黨議員Bradley Byrne發推帖圖支持這個活動：
「我和華盛頓的同事們一起參與#檸檬臉挑戰，對Aubreigh表示支持。這個來自莫比亞的5年級學生正在與擴散型內因性腦橋神經膠質瘤鬥爭，我們都支持你，
Aubreigh！」
這不是第一次有一項火爆的挑戰幫助人們提高對一種疾病的認識（並募捐）。前幾年風靡的「冰桶挑戰」為漸凍症協會籌集了超過100萬美元（約合人民幣630萬元），人們因此發現了一個疑似與漸凍症發病原因有關的基因。
