美國人說的I'm a man of my word是什麼意思？
我們所有的「英語閱讀」，都可以歸結為回答一個問題：
你的「英語閱讀」指的就是用中文「讀懂」英語，用中文意思去「懂得」英語在說什麼嗎？還是我們通過所謂「英語閱讀」，不過是訓練我們用英語「讀懂」英語的能力？
這個問題沒認真思考和解決之前，你所有的所謂「英語閱讀」就算讀得再多也都是在白讀。
我們姑且不談你的英語學了以後有沒有什麼機會「用」，我們先說說如果你聽到，或者讀到英語I'm a man of word時，你的英語「水平」是足以讓你「說出」更多的英語，包括你學過，或者你「不會用」但我寫出來你就說「」我認得」的英語，還是只能「說」它的中文？
一、下面的英語a man of word時，你是讀」成中文，還是英語？
1. Bob, I'm a man of my word. If I tell you I'll be at your house tomorrow morning at 10, then that's when I'll be there.
2. I've found Martin to be a man of his word so far, so I'm confident he'll get us the best deal possible.
在沒有語言環境下，我們看到上面的英語根本不是為了「懂」它們的中文。相反，我們不應該看不懂」它們下面的英語(意思)：
1. A man of his word：A man who can be expected to follow through with his promises or
2. A man of his word：a truthful person, a trustworthy person, a reliable person.
這麼多英語(解釋)，我們不應該一個都不認識，能「懂」就沒必要再問：中文什麼意思？
3. a man of his word：A man who keeps promises, who can be trusted.
4. A reliable person, who always keeps their promises
我們學習英語a man of his word，要學要記的正是這些「學過」的英語，不是它的中文。
可是我們卻偏偏沒這麼做：我們關心和記的只是「它的中文是什麼？」
二、學英語時「用」英語
見了英語a man of his word，我們「會說」類似下面的英語嗎？
1.Okay.I got you.I know what you mean if you say You're a man of your word.
2.If you say You're a man of word,you man You always keep your promises,you're trustfull,you're reliable,you're trustworthy
難道我們學英語a man of word時，連記住keep your promises等英語都做不到，非得記它的中文不可嗎？
