在看外刊新聞的時候看到這樣一句話：
The president has come under fire from all sides.
在這個句子中，有一個表達：come under fire
是在「火下烤」嗎？我們中文中經常說「在火上烤」。不過，這個不重要，重點是「被火烤」是「很難受的」。加以引申，就是「受到嚴厲批評；遭到猛烈批判」。大家仔細看看，是不是很形象呢？
在實際使用和運用中，這個短語中的come也可以改為be，也就是可以是come under fire，也可以是be under fire。

相當於：
be criticized severely for something you have done
