2. a number of、large numbers of 只可以修飾可數名詞複數形式，它修飾的詞作主語時謂語用複數形式。

3. a great deal of：只可以修飾不可數名詞，它修飾的詞作主語時謂語用單數形式，可以換為much。
There was a great deal of excitment before the game began.
比賽開始之前就激動人心。
4. plenty of 很多，強調數量足夠。
I have plenty of time. 我有大把的時間。
5. the number of VS a number of
the number of 表示「.....的數目」，中心詞是 number，所以是單數，謂語動詞用單數。
a number of ：大量的，很多的，修飾可數名詞複數。
