2018年1月獲悉，Frontiers in Energy（《能源前沿》）被SCI（E）資料庫收錄，收錄論文回溯至2015年第1期。
Frontiers in Energy期刊是由教育部主管，高等教育出版社、中國工程院和上海交通大學共同主辦，德國施普林格公司海外發行的Frontiers系列英文學術期刊之一，於2007年1月創刊，以網絡版和印刷版兩種形式出版，為全英文季刊。主編為上海交通大學翁史烈院士，清華大學倪維鬥院士和中國礦業大學彭蘇萍院士。
該刊注重反映全球能源各學科最新研究進展，交流國內外能源技術研究成果，主要刊登能源領域各分支學科具有創新性的綜述論文（Review Articles）、研究論文（Research Articles）、專題文章（Feature Articles）和短篇報導（Short Communications）等。主要報導範圍（不限於）：①能源基礎研究；②能源技術與應用，包括能源的產生和轉換、儲能、可再生能源、能量輸送、城市設計和建築節能等；③能源與環境，包括汙染控制、節能和氣候變化等；④能源經濟、策略和政策等；⑤新興能源問題等。
Frontiers in Energy創刊以來，堅持以稿件質量為核心，高度重視學術質量，嚴格同行評議，走國際化的辦刊道路，充分吸納各方學術力量的支持。出版方式上採用在線優先出版（Online First）形式，保證文章以最快速度發表。今後，將繼續努力提升學術質量，把Frontiers in Energy辦成能源領域學術成果的重要交流平臺，力爭成為國際一流的學術期刊。
