他們把利物浦裝進一個黃色潛水艇裡Yellow Submarine一歌由Paul McCartney為Ringo寫的歌，收入於專輯Revolver中，單曲佔據英國單曲榜冠軍位置4周，在榜單上共停留13周，獲得了Ivor Novello Award評選的「for the highest certified sales of any single issued in the UK in 1966」獎項。
歌曲成為1968年United Artist (UA)公司動畫電影的同名主題曲，也是電影原聲帶專輯的名稱。因為是Ringo演唱，所以Paul故意沒有把音域寫得很廣，Ringo也對能夠主唱這首如此流行的歌曲而十分自豪。他開玩笑說，就連胎兒都會唱這首歌。這基本上就是一首兒歌。在主歌第一段，敘述者「我」是小鎮的一個居民，大概是一個孩子。鎮上的一個老水手常常給敘述者和朋友講述當年在潛艇上的生活。
