The CPC Central Committee's proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 were adopted at the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee held in Beijing which closed on Oct 29.
The proposals highlighted progress made in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), including stable economic performance, remarkable achievements in
the fight against poverty, improving ecological environment as well as expanding opening-up.
A total of 546 comments and suggestions have been reflected in the proposals, now let『s focus on several key topics of the document.
China is going to establish a "dual circulation" development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement.
To forestall and defuse various kinds of risks and proactively address challenges brought by external changes, China needs to focus on taking care of its own matters and improving the quality of development.
With new steps to be taken in reform and opening up, China will further improve its socialist market economy and basically complete the building of a high-standard market system.
The country aims to make new progress in promoting ecological civilization, improving people's wellbeing, and enhancing governance capacity.
Eco-friendly ways of work and life will be advanced to cover all areas of society. Carbon emission will steadily decline after reaching a peak. There will be a fundamental improvement in the environment with the goal of building a Beautiful China basically reached.
BASICALLY ACHIEVE SOCIALIST MODERNIZATION BY 2035
A new stride will be made in the growth of the economy and the per capita income of urban and rural residents. Making major breakthroughs in core technologies in key areas, China will become a global leader in innovation.

通過學習全會公報，我了解到「十三五」規劃即將出色完成，其中關於推動綠色發展的內容令我印象深刻。生態文明體系的構建，有利於促進經濟社會發展全面綠色轉型，以及建設人與自然和諧共生的現代化。綠色低碳也應從小做起，從我做起：選擇公共運輸工具、使用環保可循環餐具、分類投放垃圾等。

我在閱讀新華社文章《京西賓館裡的「光碟行動」——黨的十九屆五中全會厲行節約反對餐飲浪費見聞》後感觸頗深。正好這一段時間我們都參加了「光碟行動」打卡活動，在活動中同學之間相互監督。「小餐桌」折射「大文明」，小紅苗們正在以實際行動積極響應「光碟行動，真正做到了珍惜糧食、節約糧食。
