Annie
Annie has been my student for about a year. She has excelled through SBS 1 and is now currently studying SBS 2. Annie has always been a great student by always being on time, having her homework done before class, and also doing well on the test. When she first joined the class, she was a bit quiet and shy. Fast forward about a year, she is now very active and participates throughout the class making it fun. She is very sweet and is always willing to help her classmates if needed. Her behavior is superior. She has learned so much and it is clearly visible. Keep up the great work and excelling through your studies. ---John
Bonnie has shown dedication to learning since the beginning of SBS1. She consistently performs well in her homework, and goes beyond the standard expressions of a lesson to give varied and elaborate expressions. Her commitment to her studies outside of the classroom is visible through her performance within it. What makes her a star student is how she uses her skills to encourage other students and provide an example for class exercises and activities. You have performed fantastically through the course, Bonnie. Continue as you have and you will fly high! -- Bob
Bruce is my WTE 2A student. From the first year I've taught Bruce, I watched him grow not just physically, but mentally as well. When he first joined my class, his English skills were nearly nonexistant. He could say only a few vocabulary words but sentence structure was his weakness. We continued to work on improving his English and with the support of his parents, he practices new things he learns in the classroom, at home too. He can recognize words better and his comprehension skills are better than ever. Speaking in complete sentences are no longer what he fears and his vocabulary bank has grown significantly. Not only is Bruce an intelligent young man, he is well-behaved and respectful of others in his class. These are the reason as to why I have chosen Bruce as my flying star.---Winnie
Cleo is in my SBS 1 class. He is an exceptional child. He demonstrates the character and qualities of a star student. He is very eager to learn and full of creative ideas to share in class. Not only is he bright, he is also very kind and courteous. He is always enthusiastic about helping others and when he gets rewarded and he shares his merit. He takes his time to think of creative sentences and his silly nature makes class fun. His hard work and desire to excel has really shown throughout this class. It has been a pleasure to watch him grow and develop his language skills. Good job, Cleo! Keep it up! -- Tina
Emily is part of my Friday WTE class. For the past few months she has arrived early and ready to learn. She was a quiet student at first, but has shown much improvement as a speaker in the classroom, often being the first to say a new phrase. She will also try to express new ideas in English before class begins. She has done an excellent job and is a great student to have in the classroom. Well done Emily! -- Bob
Since I've taught Happy's class, I have watched her graduate from WTE 2B to SBS1. She has improved significantly and is now one of the top of her class. Every Saturday afternoon, she arrives 10-15 minutes early dressed elegantly in her blue Elsa dress, ready to help me set the classroom. During the class, she always participates and follows the "no Chinese" rule strictly. Her English has improved a lot and she can speak in complete sentences without making grammatical errors. Not only does she complete her homework on time, remembers her recitals, and raises her hand in class, she does well on her tests and helps those around her when they struggle with making sentences. After the class is over, Happy happily helps me clean the classroom too. She is a wonderful student and I'm happy to have Happy in my class. -- Winnie
Helen
When Helen first joined my WTE class, she was very shy and didn't speak up very much. As the weeks progressed, she became more and more confident and now, she is always the first to raise her hand. On Saturday mornings, she arrives early and helps me set up the classroom and she has small conversations with me. After class is over, she also helps me clean up. Helen always does her homework and she corrects herself when she makes mistakes. She is well-behaved, outgoing, intelligent, and a pleasure to have in class.--Winnie
Jane is one of my favorite students and I love having her in my class. She is funny, creative, bright and incredibly talkative. All the classmates in her SBS 2 class are in grade 3 and 4, but even as a second grader, she has no trouble keeping up with them. Jane has a great little personality, and the other teachers her really enjoy having her in their classes too-she always comes to our winter and summer camps. Keep up the fantastic work! -- Ginger
Since his early classes as a 1B student, Jason has been a bright and eager part of our weekly lessons. He is always on time and participates in activities. During drills and games he supports other students. Since beginning SBS1, all of the things that made him a good student before continue to follow him. The class benefits from his outlook and attention, and for all this time he has remained excited and positive. Jason is a genuine joy to have as a student and a great part of an outstanding class. Keep it up, Jason! --Bob
I have watched this young man graduate from WTE1A to WTE1B to now WTE2A and soon enough, he will be in WTE2B! Jesse's English has improved a lot since I first started teaching him back in August of 2016. He is very stern when it comes to speaking strictly English in the classroom and tries his best to follow what is being taught during class time. Not only does Jesse always sit well, he makes sure other students are well-behaved and facilitates the classroom as a class monitor. What makes Jesse a star student is he is always giving it 100 percent. He always does his homework, practices what he learns in and out of the classroom, comes early to class, and always volunteers to participate. It is a pleasure to have him as my student and watch him excel in his English skills. -- Winnie
I chose Nathan as my flying star because he has grown significantly from day one as my student. I watched him succeed pass all the WTE books and is now on his way as a SBS student. I also had Nathan as my summer camp student for 2 weeks where we learned to improve our reading and comprehension. With such a creative imagination, his writing skills are excellent. Along with being such a bright student, he is well behaved and willing to help in the classroom. He is fair and always makes sure other students have their turn before he takes his second. As I always say, keep up the good work, Nathan! --Winnie
Raymond has been in my SBS1 class for about half a year now. When he first joined, he was a bit shy. Now, he is one of the first to speak up and volunteer. He is eager to learn and always willing to try. His homework is always completed and he does well on his tests. I never, once, had a problem with his behavior. He is very good and makes the class a joy to teach. -- John
Robert has been my student for over a year now,and we』ve just started studying SBS3. Initially he was one of the weaker students, but through hard work and perseverance, he managed to become a top performer who consistently produces high-quality work. Robert has a lot of energy, and at times is difficult to keep under control. Although he’s hard to manage at times, once you figure out what motivates him and are able to channel his energy into positive activities, he is a joy to have in the classroom. He also has a strong sense of what is fair and what isn’t, and will make sure students (and teachers) don’t get away with cheating and/or sub-par performance. I’m confident Robert will grow up to make a positive impact on the world. Keep up the good work! --Ginger
Sam has just finished SBS 1 and is now starting on SBS 2. What makes Sam my Flying Star is the noticeable improvements from the beginning of the class about a year ago to now. When he first joined the class, he was quiet and could not focus for a long period of time. Fast forward a year, he is now very active and participates consistently with an attention span that can last throughout the class. He usually comes to class well prepared with all his homework and recitals done and he also tries to only speak English. If other students do not understand something and Sam does, he would try to tell them in Chinese. It is a pleasure to have Sam in our class. Keep up the good work little man! -- John
What makes Sandy one of my Flying English Stars? She is always the first to arrive to class and she helps me set up the classroom. During class time, the rule is to never use Chinese and she regulates this rule and makes sure nobody ever uses it. Not only does she turn in her video homework on time, she goes above and beyond and does more then asked. Since I first taught her class, she has significantly improved her sentence structure, pronunciation, and use of vocabulary. It is very obvious that she practices what she learns outside of the classroom too. Sandy is hard-working, kind-hearted, energetic, and smart. I am proud to say she is my Flying English Star.--Winnie
In my five years as a teacher, I've met few students who were as curious, creative and articulate as Stella. She's a joy to have in the classroom, and many of our teachers look forward to Sunday afternoons as Stella usually arrives 30 minutes before the start of class. During this time. she'll walk around talking to different teachers about pretty much anything, and giving them advice on what to do. In my class she loves to participate, yet is well-behaved and very clever, but also helps classmates. Keep up the wonderful work little miss deng! --Ginger
I've taught Steven for nearly a year and when he first joined my class he was in 小班, liked to be a little naughty in class, and had trouble focusing for long periods of time. Today, he has skipped two books and is in my SBS 1 class, despite being only 5 years old. His behavior and attention span have improved dramatically too. He's one of the top students in his class, and I haven't seen many five year olds who were as bright as he is. Not only can he speak, read and write English, he can also read most of the Chinese characters that are in his dictation papers. Keep up the great work little man! --Ginger
I've known Big Tyler since summer camp of 2015. He later joined one of my SBS1 classes a little later. During the summer, he was already a very smart kid but was not too well-behaved. Moving forward, he is now extremely well-behaved and is one of my top students. He is very active and makes the class fun. He always has his homework and recitals done before class. His test scores are also one of the highest in the class. He is very talented, creative, hard-working, and well-behaved. It is a please to watch him learn and grow. Keep up the good work! -- John
Vicky is in my SBS1 class. She is full of joy and energy. I look forward to seeing her every week. She demonstrates the character and qualities of a star student. She also attended our summer camp and made a memorable impression on the other teachers here too. She is a quick learner and she is very helpful in class. When another student does not understand the new material, she helps them in English, which is impressive because students usually say the word in Chinese to get confirmation from the other students. Vicky is also very honest. When I call on her multiple times, she reminds me by telling me the other student did not get to try. She is always enthusiastic to participate in class and her desire to learn has really shown throughout our time together. Her creativity and ambition to perfect her grammar has made her the top in her class. It has been a pleasure to watch her grow and develop her language skills. Great job Vicky! Keep it up。--Tina
