據《曼徹斯特晚報》（Manchester Evening News）今日報導，大曼徹斯特市長安迪•伯納姆（Andy Burnham）呼籲英國政府加強抗疫措施，除非絕對必要，否則應命令人們呆在家裡。
市長說，這樣的規則必須是可執行的，並且應該只有「非常有限的例外」，例如允許人們外出購物。
他稱，到目前為止，政府的信息「混雜而且不清楚」，他說現在「迫切需要採取新政策」。
他的評論是在郊外公園和風景名勝區在周末（包括英國的母親節）被遊客淹沒之後發布的，當時出現了諸如Hollingworth Lake等景點停車場繁忙的圖片。
