Mia Khalifa (مِيَا خَلِيفَة Miyа̄ Ḵalīfah) is a Lebanese-American media personality,webcam model, and former pornographic actress. She began acting in pornography in October 2014, becoming the most viewed performer on Pornhub in two months.
Khalifa moved with her family to the United States in 2001, leaving their home in the wake of the South Lebanon conflict. She was raised Catholic in what she describes as a "very conservative" home,although she is no longer a practicing Catholic.She attended a French-language private school in Beirut, where she also learned to speak English.
She received online death threats after she ranked No. 1 on Pornhub, including a manipulated image of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant executioner preparing to behead her, and a message warning her that she would go to Hell, to which she replied "I've been meaning to get a little tan recently."Lebanese newspapers wrote articles critical of Khalifa, which she considered trivial due to other events in the region.
Adult film actress Mia Khalifa, model Amanda Cerny, poet Rupi Kaur, and Canadian parliamentarian Jagmeet Singh came together on Twitter to mock those who are campaigning against the farmers' protest. All four of them also took a dig at Twitter trolls who said they were paid to defame India on the global platform.
Mia Khalifa has reacted to a sign saying she "regained consciousness" which was spotted at a demonstration in New Delhi.
The former adult film actress joined the likes of international pop star Rihanna and teen climate activist Greta Thunberg earlier this week
when she tweeted in support of farmers who have been protesting against the Centre's new agriculture laws on the outskirts of Delhi since November. "I stand with the farmers," she tweeted - triggering an angry backlash from a group which yesterday held a demonstration in the national capital, chanting slogans and raising placards against global celebrities who voiced their support for the farmers' protests.
While it is not clear why the group held up these posters, AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair theorised that it was likely a case of something getting lost in translation.
