CAPFE Corporate Social Responsibility And Sustainability - Using Solar Energy

CAPFE (C.A. Picard Far East Limited) sees the importance of its role to practice CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), we are conscious of the kind of impact that are having on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental. To engage in CSR means that, in the ordinary course of business, our company is operating in ways that enhance society and the environment, instead of contributing negatively to them.

In order to be socially responsible, we need to be accountable to ourselves and to the shareholders. CAPFE is adopting CSR programs where we can give back to society. As important as CSR is for the community, it is equally valuable for a company. CSR activities can help forge a stronger bond between employees and corporations, boost morale and help both employees and employers feel more connected with the world around them.

Global warming is one the most pressing issues of today. Whether you want to believe it or not, global warming affects everyone and everything in the world. Since it was first defined, the Earth is now in its hottest state. We are in an era of increasing global warming crisis and we are entering an exciting era of smart use of energy. As a sustainable energy source for low-carbon emission reduction, solar energy is important to alleviate global warming and avoid further damage to the environment.

As one of our company’s CSR milestones, we will reduce our company's carbon footprint by installing solar system for business which will provide positive benefits to communities (like clean air and water). We also aim to dedicate to raising the community’s eco-awareness about the renewable energy and energy saving for climate change issue. And transitioning our energy usage into renewable energy sources plays an integral part in our sustainability goals.

From April/2020, with the approval from headquarters, Carl Aug. Picard GmbH, CAPFE has started the Solar System Project.

CAPFE has completed installing solar system at the roof top of our building to increase energy efficiency, leads us to a more sustainable, energy secure future that does not rely on carbon-emitting fossil fuels to power our companies. Offsetting energy costs through increased use of renewables is not only cost-effective, we believe such practices allow for CSR success, which will have the positive tangible benefits brings to local communities.

Everyone of us can play a part – big or small – in combating climate change environmental sustainability!
