作為一個新興的現象和話題，社會創新在設計領域已受到廣泛認可和討論。社會創新設計是專業設計為了激活、維持和引導社會朝著可持續發展方向邁進所能實施的一切活動。（Ezio Manzini，2015年）。問題在於在人人設計（大眾設計）的時代，這個任務是如何由設計師和設計機構（專家設計）來完成。本次研討會「在行動」旨在探討研究人員、從業人員和所有參與者之間的問題，特別側重探討如何設計院校為作為專家設計機構來實現這一任務。

為展開討論，我們初步假設「在行動」有三類形式：學術活動，實際行動和社會企業。第一類是正常的教學，或以社會創新主題的項目和研究；第二類實踐行動是指對外的社會和實踐活動，由高校機構直接推動或參與，並帶有一定的研究意圖；第三類是指促發社會創新的機構化，成立獨立於設計機構之外的社會企業。三種形式代表了參與者和參與對象之間不同的結構形式，以及不同程度的社會創新設計。

在DESIS網絡和DESIS中國區域集群的框架下，研討會是分享經驗，案例和反思社會創新設計的平臺。如何體現在正常的課程或研究計劃中融入新的課題或問題？如何作為一個高等教育設計機構支持和促進社會創新實踐？如何培養社會企業，並完成一個社會創新的設計項目？什麼是專家設計的特定價值，在這些過程中設計師和設計研究人員的角色？社會創新當前的知識積累與設計挑戰之間有哪些差距？所有這些問題（但不限於）將在研討會上進行探討。

As an emerging phenomenon and topic, social innovation has been widely recognized and discussed in the field of design. Design for social innovation is everything that expert design can do to activate, sustain, and orient process of social change towards sustainability (Manzini,2015). The question is how that can be done by designers and design institutions (experts design) when everybody designs (diffuse design). This symposium 「In Action」 aims to investigate the question between researchers, practitioners and all participants. It would particularly focus on how design school as as expert agency to make it happen. 

To open discussion, we assume roughly three formats of 「in action」: academic activities, practical actions and social enterprises. The first are normal teaching and researching activities fed with social innovation subjects or projects; the second means external social and practical program to do or participate social innovation with academic intentions; the third refers to trigger organizational process of social innovation to be independent from design agency.  The three formats indicate different structures between actors and objects, and different degree of design in social innovation. 

In the framework of DESIS network and DESIS China regional cluster, symposium is a platform to share experiences, cases and reflections in design for social innovation. How to embody new subjects or concerns in normal curriculum course or research program? How to support and promote social innovation in practice as higher education design agency? How to incubate a social enterprise and complete a design project for social innovation? What are particular values of expert design, roles of designers and design researchers in those processes? What are gaps of knowhow between current academic and professional expertise and designing challenges in social innovation? All those questions (but not limited) would be explored in symposium.

陳述和展覽項目徵集Call for presentation and exhibition

為了更充分地分享和討論主題和議題，除了特邀的專家演講外，我們向國內外廣泛徵集「行動」項目，通過審核篩選，將以會議陳述和展覽的形式呈現。項目徵集的關鍵標準是以「行動「，這種行動可反映為教學活動、應用性研究、實踐性項目或社會企業等。陳述可圍繞項目本身展開，亦可作為項目反思，延伸至相關議題討論。優秀的陳述將被推薦至《創意與設計》雜誌「服務設計與社會創新」專欄做全文發表。

Beside of invited speeches, we are opening a call for all kinds action projects on design for social innovation in China and globally, in order to have wide and rich state-of-art and open discussion around concerns. Those selected projects will be invited to have presentation and be part of exhibition during symposium. The key criteria of the project is 「action」, which refers to teaching-based project, applied research project, practical project, social enterprise project or other kinds. The presentation may focus on project, or extend discussion on the related subjects as reflection of projects. The selected excellent presentations and projects will be recommended to the journal <creation and design> for full article publication.

10月25日，提交項目陳述摘要徵集，500字以內（題目、作者、摘要內容），可圖文並茂；

10月31日，項目接收通知，提供參展要求； 

11月15日，提交陳述材料或項目海報和展覽材料；

Oct. 25th 2016, deadline of submission of abstract, less than 500 words including title and author and pictures;

Oct. 31st 2016,  Notice of acceptation and providing the guideline of exhibition;

Nov. 15th 2016, Submission of presentation and exhibition materials.
