中國有一句老話「人不可貌相，海水不可鬥量」，比喻不能只根據相貌、外表判斷一個人
那麼如何用英語表達這個意思呢？
英語裡也有一句特別地道的表達Don't judge a book by its cover.字面意思是不能通過一本書的封面來判斷一本書的好壞，實際意思就是「人不可貌相」。
