就在今天上午，有一個話題迅速被刷上了微博熱搜。

如果大家在Instagram上關注的歐美明星比較多的話，會發現自己的時間線上幾乎黑得連成了一條線，根本看不到其他內容。而這些明星發的圖片，往往都帶了一個tag：
#Blackout Tuesday
據國內媒體統計，歐美的一線明星，包括但不限於瑪麗亞·凱莉、蕾哈娜、凱蒂·佩裡、卡迪B、錘哥、萊託、奧蘭多·布魯姆、甜茶、布麗·拉爾森、荷蘭弟、大衛·貝克漢姆、艾瑪·沃森、Coldplay，等等等等，都發了這樣一張純黑色的圖片。
Blackout這個詞本來有「停電、斷電」的意思，通過發純黑圖片的方式將整個社交媒體「陷入黑暗」，倒也真有點人為斷電的感覺了……但更重要的是，這裡的black還和目前發生在美國的另外一件大事產生了關聯。
這到底是怎麼一回事呢？《每日電訊報》就對這件事進行了報導：
文章的第一句話相信點出了好多人的困惑：

你可能在疑惑為什麼你社交媒體的信息流被黑色的圖片吞沒了。
那麼，究竟這個tag#Blackout Tuesday表示的是什麼呢？
The idea is to fill Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with black squares, freeing up the time usually dedicated to social media for people to educate themselves on the Black Lives Matter movement.
#Blackout Tuesday的想法是讓純黑圖片充滿臉書、推特和Instagram，讓人們騰出通常專門用來刷社交媒體的時間來自行了解「黑人的命也是命」運動。
這句話是主系表結構（The idea is to fill Facebook, Twitter and Instagram），其中表語是不定式to fill Facebook, Twitter and Instagram，表示目的。with black squares是介賓短語作方式狀語。freeing up the time是現在分詞作伴隨狀語。usually dedicated to social media是過去分詞作後置定語，修飾the time（其中usually是副詞作頻率狀語，修飾這個過去分詞）。for people to educate themselves是不定式結構作目的狀語，其中for people是不定式的邏輯主語，on the Black Lives Matter movement是介賓短語作方面狀語。
這裡有這麼幾個習語值得我們學習：
第一，black squares。square這個詞作名詞，最基本的含義就是a shape with four straight equal sides with 90° angles at the corners，正方形、四方形。這裡的black squares就是指黑色的方塊。大家回想一下我們剛剛看到的純黑圖片，不恰恰就是一個純黑的正方形嗎，是不是很形象？
第二，freeing up the time。free something up，有時可以直接寫作free something，表示to make something available so that it can be used，騰出、使……可用，例：I need to free up some of the disk space on my computer. 我需要在我電腦上釋放一些硬碟空間。在這個句子裡面，就是把時間騰出來的意思。
第三，dedicated to social media。這裡實際是對dedicate something to/for something的過去分詞化處理，表示to use a place, time, money etc only for a particular purpose，把……專用於，例：The company dedicated $50,000 for the study. 該公司為此項研究撥出專款五萬美金。
第四，educate themselves on the Black Lives Matter movement。這裡運用了educate somebody about/in/on something，這個詞組表示to give someone information about a particular subject, or to show them a better way to do something，在……上教導、指導某人，例：a campaign to educate teenagers about HIV 教育青少年了解愛滋病病毒的運動
原來，#Blackout Tuesday是Black Lives Matter運動的一部分。相信看到Black Lives Matter，大家應該就能明白，歐美明星的這次集體發聲，就是和美國黑人喬治·弗洛伊德之死密切關聯。
上個月25號，美國明尼蘇達州白人警察涉嫌暴力執法致死黑人男子喬治·弗洛伊德在美國引發了軒然大波，抗議示威活動到今天已經持續到第10天，人們的怒火已經燒到了白宮門前，川普一度躲到了地堡裡面。
人們紛紛質問，為什麼在當今的美國，還會出現這樣的種族歧視和背後深藏的不平等現象？

最近的幾起死亡事件，讓「黑人的命也是命」運動再次興起。這場運動發起於2013年，它最開始是一個社交媒體的標籤，在2012年齊默爾曼（George Zimmerman）槍殺非裔美國青少年馬丁（Trayvon Martin）但被判無罪之後演變成為一場抗議運動。
昨天，不僅僅在社交媒體上，在現實生活中，人們也疾呼著Blackout的口號。帝國大廈也為弗洛伊德變「黑」了……
Black Lives Matter放到中文裡該怎麼翻譯？6月1號，外交部新聞發言人趙立堅給了我們答案和中國人的立場：
我們關注美國因喬治·弗洛伊德之死引發的事態發展。黑人的命也是命，他們的人權也要得到保障。美國少數族裔遭受種族歧視是美國社會痼疾。
We are following the latest developments of the situation following the death of George Floyd. "Black lives matter."Their human rights should be protected. Racial discrimination against ethnic minorities remains a social ill in the US.
當前事態再次反映美國國內種族歧視、警察暴力執法等問題的嚴重性和解決有關問題的緊迫性。
What is happening right now once again shows the seriousness of racial discrimination and violent law enforcement by the police, and the urgency for the US to address them.
黑人的命也是命，他們的人權也要得到保障。
五十多年前，美國黑人民權運動領袖馬丁·路德·金曾振聾發聵地說：
我夢想有一天，在喬治亞的紅山上，昔日奴隸的兒子將能夠和昔日奴隸主的兒子坐在一起，共敘兄弟情誼。
我夢想有一天，我的四個孩子將在一個不是以他們的膚色，而是以他們的品格優劣來評判他們的國度裡生活。
不知道這個夢想，何時才能真正實現呢？
