Yo if I were an NBA team I』d be calling up my lawyers and telling them to add 「no scooters in China」 to the list of contract-prohibited activities. Shit’s way more dangerous than snowboarding or owning a motorcycle in the US IMO.
For one, they don’t make those for NBA-height guys, I’m 6』6」 and I had to ride with my knees out to the side, I looked silly as fuck and it’s extra unsafe.
Secondly, it’s trivially easy to die on one of those, especially without a helmet. Traffic laws are suggestions in China. Not even 「mom is suggesting I clean my room」 level of persuasion, more like the 「do you want to supersize that」 level.
I am extremely lucky I walked away from a scooter crash with bumps and bruises. Very easily could have been a dumb laowai on liveleak or the top post on r/watchpeopledie.
Also the absolutely ridiculous ass on that chick riding on the back of that other bike is probably causing local gravity distortions—watch out, James.

Scooters in China are far less aggressive that motorcycles in he US. They are much more common and almost exclusively electric which is cool. People there don’t burn through yellow lights in the same way either. All that being said, he should not be risking his body in that way.
