布爾諾國際設計雙年展創辦於1963年，是當代世界平面設計最重要的展覽活動之一，集中展示世界各地視覺傳達領域的最優秀的設計作品。雙年展由捷克共和國文化部和摩拉維亞美術館主辦，布爾諾市政府、南摩拉維亞州政府、捷克中心聯合協辦。
2018年第28屆布爾諾雙年展國際競賽評審委員由設計師和設計理論家組成，評審更多強調項目的大膽性，同時考衡作品概念及工藝的精良性。本屆雙年展收件作品大多數與文化項目相關，集中體現在文化活動推廣、獨立雜誌、節慶活動、小型出版物、藝術專著等方面，而來自商業領域的優質作品則相對較少。經過激烈角逐，全球共有175位設計師入圍，中國設計師佔席13位。

雙年展獎項（Awards）
入圍作品將在摩拉維亞美術館展出，2018.5.10展覽開幕當日同時公布獎項，所有入圍作品將有機會爭奪全場大獎 ——「捷克共和國文化部長獎「（The Award of the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic）。此外，2018年布爾諾國際設計雙年展設計獎項還包括:
「捷克中心獎」 (The Award of the Czech Centres) (為年齡在30周歲以上捷克青年設計師設置)
「布爾諾市長獎」(The Award of the Mayor of the City of Brno) (為年齡在35周歲以上平面藝術家設置)
「最佳訪客獎」(The Visitors』 Award) (雙年展展覽結束後由民眾評選而出)
「布爾諾雙年展設計傑出貢獻獎」(The Award of the Brno Biennial for a Contribution to Graphic Design) (由布爾諾雙年展組委會授予)
雙年展論壇活動（Biennial Talks）
將在Scala Cinema斯卡拉劇院舉辦為期三天的系列講座和演講活動（2018.5.11-2018.5.13）。雙年展論壇分三個主題單元進行，每天安排不同主題，由本屆策展團隊成員Adam Štěch主持。雙年展論壇官方語言為捷克語和英語，現場同時提供同聲傳譯。

DAY2: Graphic Design and Quality Commerce (平面設計與商業品質)
DAY3: Graphic Design from the Perspective of Other Creative Disciplines (建築與產品設計視角下的平面設計)
2018年布爾諾國際設計雙年展論壇和展覽活動憑註冊卡 (Accreditation Card) 入場，持卡還可以5折優惠購買雙年展作品集。註冊卡標準收費150歐元/人，學生60歐元/人，於現場登記處購買，雙年展官網提供在線填表申請。
