四、單詞辨析
1、join與join in
join意為「參加；加入」，後常接某個團體或組織，含有成為其中一員的意思；後也可接人，意為「和……一起從事某活動」。例如：
I want to join the League/Party.我想加入共青團/入黨。
Does he want to join us?他想加入我們嗎？
join in 表示「參加」，其後接的賓語一般是表示競賽、娛樂、遊戲等活動的名詞。例如：join in the basketball game參加籃球賽 join in the computer games參加計算機遊戲。
2、talk, tell, speak與say
talk意為「說話;談話;交談」，強調兩人或兩人以上的相互交談，常與to, with等介詞連用，表示「與……交談」，與介詞about或of連用，表示「談論……內容」。例如:
Let your mother talk to you.讓你媽媽跟你談。
I am talking about birthday party with Lily on the phone.我在講話上和麗麗談論關於生日聚會的事情。
tell 意為「告訴;講述」，表示單方面告訴某人某事。後既可接人也可接物。常用短語:tell sb. sth.告訴某人某事 tell sb. (not) to do sth.告訴某人(不要)做某事 例如:
Please tell stories.請講故事。
The teacher tells us to finish the homework on time.老師告訴我們按時完成家庭作業。
speak意為「講話;說(某種語言);演講;發言」，只強調說話者的能力、方式，不強調對象，後接語言。例如:
I can speak Chinese and English, but a little Japanese.我會說漢語和英語，但日語只會一點點。
say意為「說」，著重強調說話的內容。例如:
He says, 「you are a good boy」.他說「你是一個好男孩。」
3、also, too與either
also常放於肯定句中，在be動詞、情態動詞或助動詞之後，實義動詞之前。例如:
My father can also draw very well.我爸爸也能畫好。
Tom is also good at dancing.湯姆也擅長於跳舞。
too一般放於肯定句或疑問句句末，前必須有「，」。例如:
I like apples, my brother likes them, too.我喜歡蘋果，我弟弟也喜歡蘋果。
Do you like strawberries, too?你也喜歡草莓嗎？
either常用於否定句句末，前有「，」。例如:
I don't want to join in swimming club，either.我也不想參加有用俱樂部。
