事實上，初中英語學習中，很多學生在寫英語作文的時候都會遇到得分不高，總是出現如：依賴於課文中的句子或句式，沒有匹配時總出現連續的簡單句，通篇敘述平穩，沒有華麗的辭藻和很好的文章布局等問題。
想要在英語寫作上取得進一步的提高，考試作文的得分上一個臺階。
首先，除了必須掌握一些寫作常用的詞彙和句型（強調這裡的寫作常用詞彙與中考高頻詞彙不同，需要另外重新記背），還需要同學多積累一些新鮮的詞彙和短語，不要反覆就是那幾個詞彙和句型，否則會引起閱卷老師的反感，作文的高分就無望了，比如可以記背一些過渡詞彙或者一些經典的句型等。其次，必須要加大專項的練習，從日常口頭交流到小日記，日積月累，寫作能力和水平自然而然會提高。
很多同學在寫英語作文時基本上是簡單句的排列，偶爾出現一個複雜句，還摻雜一些生僻的詞彙或者錯誤的語法，得不到閱卷老師的認可不說，反而使自己的分數比以前更低。
唐老師總結了以下9類常用的過渡詞（包括了常用的開頭短語和結尾的句式），38個高級句型（得分必備），用上就可以提升你作文的水平和得分，考前不妨多記記背背：
類別1 開頭常用短語
It’s said that... 據說……As we all know that... 我們都知道……It『s well known that... 眾所周知……As/So far as I know... 據我所知……It is clear/obvious that... ……是顯而易見的
類別2 表「結構順序」
first/firstly 第一first of all 首先to begin/start with 首先in the first place 首先second/secondly 第二 next 其次；然後and then 於是；然後 meanwhile/at the same time 同時finally/eventually/at last/in the end 最終
類別3 表示「並列補充」

類別5 表示「因果關係」

寫作常用的得分句型，比起簡單句的排列使用，這樣的句型能使你的文章增加了色彩，並且這些句型更加的受到閱卷老師的親睞。
