只是，這降雪畢竟還是太小，一覺醒來，地面上已經看不到雪的痕跡了。
不過別著急，據中央氣象臺預報，13日晚間至14日，新疆北部、西北地區東部、華北、東北地區南部、黃淮、江漢北部等地將會出現一次比較明顯的小到中雪或雨夾雪天氣過程，此輪雨雪過程將比12日強度更強，範圍更大。

「Beijing has recently witnessed drier winters with smaller snowfalls than the average seen in past decades. But the recent snow will help the capital reach its average,」 said Chen Tao, chief forecaster at the National Meteorological Center on Tuesday. 中央氣象臺首席預報員陳濤表示：「近兩年，北京地區冬季降雪偏少，降水量小於常年平均值。此輪降雪過程結束後，北京地區降水量將接近常年同期水平。」
其實，在2月6日，北京就有過一場降雪，不過，因為太小，被很多網友戲稱為「頭皮屑式降雪」，這樣少量的降雪我們可以稱之為dustings of snow。Dusting作為名詞的另一個意思指「給（家具等）除塵」，比如，The furniture needs a good dusting。

The average precipitation in the city reached 0.5 millimeters from 1 am to 4 pm on Tuesday and the highest precipitation — 3 mm — was recorded at Erhaituo weather station in the hilly Yanqing district, the city’s meteorological bureau said. 北京市氣象局表示，12日凌晨1點至4點，該市平均降水量達到0.5毫米，最大降水量為3毫米，出現在延慶山區的二海坨。
降水量（precipitation）是衡量一個地區降水多少的數據。按氣象觀測規範規定，氣象站在有降水的情況下，每隔六小時觀測一次。6小時中降下來的雨雪統統融化為水，稱為6小時降水量（6-hour precipitation）；24小時降下來的雨雪統統融化為水，稱為24小時降水量（24-hour precipitation）；……一年中，降下來的雨雪統統融化為水，稱為「年降水量（annual precipitation）」。
我們平時聽到的有效降水（effective precipitation）指的是日降水量大於或等於0.1毫米（precipitation of more than 0.1 mm in one day）。
雨雪天氣影響出行安全
目前正值春運返程高峰，此次大範圍雨雪天氣過程將對交通運輸以及生產生活造成不利影響。
The recent snow accumulation may ease the current drought in North China, but more snow could affect transportation to some extent since a large population is pouring back into big cities after the Spring Festival holiday, Chen said. 陳濤表示，此輪降雪天氣過程對緩解北方乾旱情況有一定幫助，不過，由於恰逢春運返程高峰，降雪或將在一定程度上影響交通出行。
The expected snow will cover broader regions across North and Northwest China, and parts of South China will continue to see rain in the coming days. 未來幾天，華北、西北地區將迎來大範圍降雪，華南部分地區將持續降雨。
