other/the other/others/another的基本用法
other的基本用法pron. 另外一個；adj. 其他的，另外的。作形容詞時，若是後跟複數名詞，other+複數名詞=others；other又可接不可數名詞。例如：other people=others，other information 別的/其它新聞。the other的基本用法( 1 ) .若other為代詞，the other指兩者中的另一個，常和one呼應著用。即常用結構：one……the other（一個……另一個……）
（2）.若other為形容詞。the other 指其它的……,其後可接可數名詞和單數。
the other+複數名詞=the others,指一個範圍中餘下的全部。例如：the other people=the others
the other+不可數名詞，「其餘的……」。例如：如：the other money 剩下的錢
another的基本用法（1）. another=an +other,既可以作代詞，也可以作形容詞。 （2）.another作代詞時，指三者以上中的另一個。
（3）.another作形容詞時，是指在原有的(三個或三個以上）中的「一個」或「另外一個）」。another 名詞實際意義為：an other+名詞。
（4）. another+數詞表示 "又，再"。如：another two apples（=two more apples）.
others的基本用法others中有兩個作用：複數和名詞。所以others=other+ 可數名詞複數，others不能用作定語。其含義為：表示別的，其餘某些東西或人們」，但沒有明確的範圍。the others的基本用法the others中the表特指，others相當於複數名詞，因此the others只能作代詞，則表示具體範圍中的別的，其餘某些東西或人們。例如：There are forty students in the class ， Fifteen are girls,the others are boys.( the others = the other students）

區分another，other與else.簡單來說，other可作形容詞或代詞，做形容詞時，意思是「別的，其他」，泛指「其他的（人或物）」；another=an other，既可作形容詞，也可作代詞，只能用於三個或更多的人或物，泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的「另一個」，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞；else 一般修飾疑問詞和不定代詞，而且必須後置。兩個「互相」：one another表示三者或以上中的互相，each other兩者之間的互相，但在現代英語中已通用。一個……另一個的表達：在兩者中，用one……the other結構；在三者或三者以上中，用one……another結構。一些……,另一些的表達：some... others結構中，others指（沒有明確範圍）；some ... others結構中，the others指（有明確範圍，指具體範圍中的別的，其餘某些東西或人們。）
