I was having dinner at a restaurant when Tony Steele came in. Tony worked in a lawyer's office years ago, but he is now working at a bank.

[我正在一家飯館吃飯，託尼·斯蒂爾走了進來。託尼曾在一家律師事務所工作，而現在正在一家銀行上班。]

He gets a good salary, but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back. Tony saw me and came and sat at the same table. He has never borrowed money from me.

While he was eating, I asked him to lend me twenty pounds.

To my surprise, he gave me the money immediately. 'I have never borrowed any money from you,' Tony said, 'so now you can pay for my dinner!'

過去的過去……過去完成時

有過去發生的動作, 但是還強調對現在的影響……現在完成時

有(yesterday,last night)以前的事情, 沒有強調對現在的影響……一般過去時
