我把它拼寫成Y,因為Y就代表Spyder(spider和Spyder發音一樣)。

BOULDER, Colo, December 21st, 2007 - The Iconic Spyder emblem is a ubiquitous a part of on-mountain culture as the snow itself and is synonymous with leading-edge performance and adrenalin-charged style. 2008 marks a banner year for Spyder as the brand enters its 30th year, well positioned as the world's leading ski specialty and mountain-style brand.
In 1978, ski racing champion and entrepreneur David Jacobs founded David L. Jacobs Inc., to market a padded slalom sweater. He had also designed a padded race pant with pads sewn on top of the legs. He decided to sell the sweater through a small mail order business out of his kitchen, but didn't know what to name it. His youngest son, Billy, had been calling the pants "spider" pants because the pads looked like spider legs. David recalls his thought process on naming the business: "That's it, I'll spell it with a "Y" because of Ferrari convertibles called "Spyder", and because I hate black widows, that will be the icon." The name and memorable logo stuck and the Spyder brand was created, becoming the mark of on-mountain excellence for generations to come.
Spyder operated out of Jacobs' kitchen until 1980, when sales reached six figures and expansion became imminent. Over the decades to follow, Jacobs played an intimate part in leading Spyder's daily operations, ultimately passing the torch in 2006 to his eldest son, Spyder's current President and CEO Jake Jacobs. Today the cottage operation David Jacobs founded continues to enjoy consistent year over year growth, outpacing players in the CATegory and consistently setting the benchmark for technical performance and style. Spyder's product mix has grown to dominate ski racing, alpine, freeski, and accessory categories, as well as a newly introduced downhill mountain biking-inspired Spring Freeryde collection.
"I'm honored and awestruck by the size and strength of Spyder today, compared to how it was in the beginning," said David Jacobs. "Spyder was first embraced by core, elite athletes, and we remain committed to serving the consumer. Our industry partners are the best in the business, and we thank each of them for their support over the decades."
