The total score is now 2700 because the Abstract Reasoning section was removed from the UCAT in 2025. The exam now consists of three cognitive sections (VR, DM, QR) each scored 300-900, totaling 2700 points.

A good UCAT score is generally considered to be above 2500, with highly competitive medical schools requiring scores above 2800. The 2024 average score was 2523. Scores in the 80th-90th percentile (approximately 2780-2920) are considered excellent.

UCAT uses Item Response Theory (IRT) and statistical equating to convert raw scores to scaled scores. This process accounts for differences in question difficulty across different test versions, ensuring fair comparison between candidates who took different versions of the exam.
