For much of the 「Internet age」, the Chinese and US ecosystems have been largely independent of each other.
The rise of AI-centric start-ups has created a new class of start-up that is taking advantage of the breakthrough innovations in the US with the speed and scale of China. There are a host of US companies founded by entrepreneurs with Chinese backgrounds- most obviously Zoom, Plus, TuSimple, Pony, and Weride. There are dozens of other, lesser-known examples (including Subtle Medical, Turing Video, Covariant, Nuro, DeepMap, and others).
This is not a coincidence- there is the result of trends towards the global movement of intellectual capital, combined with the disruptive impact of AI on the software industry
We are pleased to have Eric Rosenblum, Managing Partner at Tsingyuan Ventures join us to discuss his perspective on AI startup trends in China, North America, and the new playbook spanning both markets.
Tsingyuan Ventures is a ~$100M technology-focused venture fund based in Los Altos, California.
Prior to Tsingyuan Ventures, Eric was a senior product executive at both Google and Palantir and was COO of Drawbridge (sold to LinkedIn) and CEO of SmartPay (sold to Ping』an Group). He has an AB from Harvard University and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
In addition to the keynote speaker component, Eric will host one-on-one office hour sessions at this event to provide personal advice to startups on a pro bono basis. This session is not restricted to startups in the AI field.
