學習英語很大的一個困擾就是存在很多形似的單詞，有的時候它們意思完全不一樣，比如 complement 和 compliment，有時候它們的意思又比較接近，比如 dependent 和 dependant 等，還有今天的 advice 和 advise.
一、advice 是不可數名詞，意為「勸告，忠告，建議，意見」，例如：
Take my advice. I don't use it anyway.
聽我的勸告。反正我也不用。
He who can take advice is often superior to him who can give it.
能接受勸告的人往往比能提出建議的人優越。
Many receive advice, but only the wise profit from it.
許多人接受忠告，但只有明智的人才從中受益。
二、advise 是動詞，意為「勸告；忠告；建議；出主意；提供諮詢；通知；正式告知」，例如：
The rich are always advising the poor, but the poor seldom return the compliment.
富人總是勸告窮人，窮人卻很少回敬別人的讚美。
Attach yourself to those who advise you rather than praise you.
依附於那些建議你而不是讚揚你的人。
Women will never be as successful as men because they have no wives to advise them.
女人永遠不會像男人那樣成功，因為她們沒有妻子給她們建議。
I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.
我發現給你的孩子們提建議的最好方法就是找出他們想要什麼，然後建議他們去做。
三、兩者的區別及記憶方法
區別：advice 是名詞，而 advise 是動詞。
記憶方法：advice 與 mice 押韻，mice 是名詞，所以可以把 advice 記住為名詞，那麼剩下的 advise 就是動詞了。
要區分英語中容易混淆的單詞，一定要找出適合自己的永生難忘的規律，這樣可以達到事半功倍的效果，現在記住了就代表永遠學會了，所以學英語找規律相當重要。
