Step 1. Preparation

    1. Greetings and free talk

    How many ways can you think of to go to school?

                         

 2.Let’s watch (different places in the world)

  【設計意圖:通過課前聊天,快速拉近師生關係。同時設定教學情境,用真實的語境服務於本課內容。藉助真實的動畫緩解學習的壓力,並直入主題。】

Step 2. Presentation

    Teacher asks students to read the text quickly.

1.Skimming reading

   How many places are there in the text?Teacher introduces students the skill of skimming reading.Students read the text and think about the question.

   【設計意圖:培養學生略讀能力,快速獲取文章主旨大意。】

2.Intensive reading

Read picture 1 and answer (teacher and students)

Q1:Where is it? It’s in_____ ________.

Q2:How do the children go to school there?  

Some children go to school_____ _____.

Teacher and students read picture one and let students answer the questions.

Read picture 2 and answer (students read it by themselves)

Q1: Where is it? It’s in_____ ______.

Q2: How do the children go to school there?  

Some children go to school____ _____.

Students read picture two and answer the questions.

3.Read and judge

(    )1.Children are in Jiangxi, USA.

(    )2.They go to school by ferry.

Students read picture three and judge whether the sentence is true or false.

   【設計意圖:通過生生互助,將課堂還給學生,教師僅在學習過程中進行啟發、推進和調控,培養學生自主吸納和建構新知識的能力,同時培養學生細節閱讀能力。】

4.Listen and fill in the blanks

      In ____ ______, _____, the children go to school ____ ______, too. But in 2009, they went to school __ ______because the ferry didn’t _______.

    【設計意圖:設計梯度問題,讓學生帶著問題逐步學習,同時培養學生的聽力。】

Step 3.  Practice

   Watch the video and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

1. let’s read it. (work in pairs)

2. Summarize the main idea with mind map.       

    【設計意圖:藉助直觀的視頻整體呈現文本,逐一理解;又以圖文並茂的方式讓學生整體感知,用思維導圖有效的梳理文章脈絡,突破難點。教師有意識以身示範,實時滲透,教給學生學習的方法,實現閱讀訓練的目標。】

3. Let’s read a story book: This is the way we go to school.

4. Let’s sing the song (This is the way we go to school, go to school, go to school…)

   【設計意圖:藉助新奇、富有想像力的繪本,建構學生的想像力,調動學生的興趣,了解其他地方的學生是怎麼去上學的,逐步培養學生的英語思維。】

Step 4. Production (group work)

   Talk about the ways of transportation. And write down your suggestions for your friends. Then finish the poster in groups.

     【設計意圖:以讀促寫,把給朋友的安全建議寫下來,並在完成海報的過程中培養學生的合作交流意識。】

   Life is precious. We must pay attention to the traffic rules. Be careful on the way to school or home.

   【設計意圖:教育學生注意交通安全,珍愛生命。】
