Mom: Last up is the group from the cretaceous period.
媽媽：最後是白堊紀的一組。
Cretaceous讀作 [kri'teis]。
What does that include?
包括什麼呢？
Child: Hmmm … that includes the tyrannosaurus rex, stegosaurus, triceratops, velociraptor, and spinosaurus.
寶寶：嗯……包括霸王龍、劍龍、三角龍、迅猛龍和棘龍。
I know about these!
我知道這些！
Mom: Well, tell me about them as we walk along.
媽媽：嗯，邊走邊給我講講吧。
Child: Okay. The most famous one is the T-Rex, or tyrannosaurus rex;
寶寶：好的。最著名的是霸王龍；
Tyrannosaurus讀作 [tirn's:rs]。
he was a carnivore
他是食肉動物，
and could weigh up to 15 tons
最高可重到15噸，
and had the strongest bite force among land animals at the time.
是當時陸地動物中咬力最強的。
He was vicious.
他很兇惡。
Mom: Sounds scary!
媽媽：聽起來好嚇人！
Child: There was also the stegosaurus,
寶寶：還有劍龍，
Stegosaurus讀作 [steɡ'srs]。
who had massive plates standing along his spine
他的脊背上有巨大的骨板，
and his tail had spikes.
尾巴上有刺。
He was a quadrupedal dinosaur
他是四足恐龍，
Quadrupedal讀作 [kw'dru:pidl]。
and a herbivore with a short neck.
是短脖子的食草動物。

My favorite is the triceratops.
我最喜歡的是三角龍。

That one was a herbivore who had 3 horns on his skull –

two at the top of his head and one on his nose.

He had 4 thick legs to walk on.

He was normally about 9 feet tall.

Mom: This one looks impressive.

What does the plaque say about him?

Child: I'll read it.

"It was a bipedal,

Mom: What's the last one?

Child: The spinosaurus.

Spinosaurus讀作 [spainsrs]。
He has a huge fan-like spine,

which is where he gets his name.

The spine was an extension of the vertebrae,

which could grow up to 5 ft tall!

They were connected by skin.

Mom: I think he is my favorite.

That was a great tour through the dinosaur section.
