一個英語單詞可以分為三個部分：前綴（prefix），詞根（stem）及後綴（suffix）。單詞中位於詞根前面的部分就是前綴。前綴，可以改變單詞的意思。後綴，又稱詞尾，可以改變詞性。
例如，詞根dependent （a.依靠的）加上表示否定的前綴in，即可變成independent a. 不依靠，獨立，再加上表示狀態的名詞後綴ce，即可變成independence n. 獨立性
現在大家發現了吧，用詞根詞綴記單詞，不僅僅可以達到事半功倍的效果，而且當你掌握了這種記單詞的方法，遇到不認識的單詞，你也能猜出它的基本意思。
我們先從大家比較熟悉的一些後綴學起。
英語中後綴可分為：名詞後綴、動詞後綴、形容詞後綴和副詞後綴。
今天，我們主要講一個名詞後綴：tion/ion

【英文釋義】If a woman has an abortion, she ends her pregnancy （懷孕，妊娠）deliberately（故意地） so that the baby is not born alive（活著的）.

【例句】He and his girlfriend had been going out together for a year when she had an abortion.
在他的女朋友墮胎之前，他倆已經交往一年了。
affect

【英文釋義】If something affects a person or thing, it influences them or causes them to change in some way.

affection

【英文釋義】If you regard someone or something with affection, you like them.

【英文釋義】When someone is educated, he or she is taught at a school or college.

CEO 全稱是Chief Executive Officer（執行長）
我們常見職位縮寫的還有：
COO 全稱是Chief Operating Officer（營運長），很多職場女性喜歡的Sheryl Sandberg（雪莉·桑德伯格）就是Facebook的COO；
CFO 全稱是Chief Financial Officer（財務長） 大家可別把財務長說成UFO哈！
