guest、customer 和 client三個詞的區別.簡單快速的解釋

I teach every day, and at least once a day I hear someone mix up these words.  Do you REALLY know the difference?  If not, maybe this』ll help:

Someone who hires a company to provide a service to them.

聘用一個公司來為自己提供服務的人

Examples:

You can tell this lawyer is terrible because he doesn’t have any clients.

你可以看出這個律師是特別糟糕的那種，因為他一個客戶都沒有。

I’m on my way to see a client now to talk about his financial needs.

我正在去見一個客戶的路上，我要和他討論一下他的金融理財。

Someone who pays for products at stores or restaurants.

在商場裡或者餐廳中消費的人群

Examples:

It’s almost Christmas, so stores are going to be overflowing with customers soon.

聖誕節馬上要到了，商場將很快被顧客們擠爆的。

This must be a great restaurant because it has so many customers.

這家餐廳裡有這麼多客人吃飯，肯定很不錯。

Someone who pays for services at hotels, spas, and restaurants.  Places that offer hospitality services (including someone’s home).

 在酒店、SPA會所和餐廳購買服務的人（也包括家中的訪客）。

Example:

Thanks for being a guest at the Sharkbait hotel. We hope to see you again!

感謝你選擇成為Sharkbait酒店的客人。我們期待您的下次光臨！

Our goal is to offer our guests the most unique dining experience possible.

我們的目標就是儘可能地為客戶提供非凡的用餐體驗。

Note:  As you can see, when talking about restaurants, both customer and guest can be used.  Client is more for 「business.」  

正如你所看的的，當我們討論到餐館的時候，customer和guest都可以用。Client比較多是在商務洽淡的時候用到。
