Only one boy has returned to class at this kindergarten

While kindergartens in Shanghai reopened to students on Tuesday, parents were given the option of keeping their kids at home and continuing with online classes if they still felt uncomfortable about the coronavirus epidemic. This was apparently a popular option at one kindergarten in Songjiang district where only a single student returned to school in a class of 38.Footage from the kindergarten shows the boy sitting alone in a classroom while receiving lessons from two teachers. The teachers patiently watch over him as he plays outside, eats, and even naps. These sorts of 「one-child school」 situations aren’t uncommon out in the Chinese countryside which many families have moved out of in recent years. However, it’s certainly an unusual sight in China’s most populous city.
