A talented 11-year-old boy from Nigeria has impressed people around the world with his passion for ballet dancing.
A video of Anthony Mmesoma Madu dancing in the rain in Lagos, Nigeria, spread across the internet as social media users praised the 11-year-old for breaking negative stereotypes around male dancers.
在接受BBC採訪時，Anthony 表示，自己希望能夠打破只有女孩能跳芭蕾的刻板印象。

在我生活的地方，沒有像我這樣的男芭蕾舞者。人們看到芭蕾都會覺得那是女孩子的專屬，大家不知道芭蕾並不只屬於女孩。「Where I live there are no male ballet dancers like me. When people see ballet they think it is only for girls, they don't know that it is not only for girls.」
我想讓他們在看到我跳舞時，知道原來還有男芭蕾舞者。"How I want them to see me is that when I am dancing they know that there is a male ballet dancer.
Anthony在採訪中也表達了自己對芭蕾的熱愛。

這種感覺向我襲來，就像是在做夢一樣。The feeling that comes over me is as if I am dreaming.
據英國《標準晚報》(Evening Standard)報導，Anthony是位於奈及利亞拉各斯Leap of Dance Academy舞蹈學校的12名學生之一。

該校由舞者Daniel Ajala Owoseni 於2017年創立，一直為學生們提供免費的舞蹈教學。

不過學校裡沒有正式的練舞房，但據校方介紹，這些熱愛舞蹈的孩子們依然努力練習，全力做到最好。

在寥寥無幾的資源下，我們的孩子依然在訓練中做到最好。這沒有難倒任何人，而是展現孩子們對芭蕾舞高度的投入與付出。誰不會為他們感到驕傲呢？With very little or no resources our kids are training to be the best they can. This is not to bring down anyone but to show their high level of dedication and committments to our program. Who wouldn't be proud of them?
而校內的老師Daniel則是自學成才，在小Anthony的眼中，Daniel老師作為導師一直激勵著自己。

Anthony is one of 12 students at the Leap of Dance Academy in Lagos.
Daniel Ajala Owoseni founded the academy in 2017 and has been been teaching ballet for free without a dance space.
The 11-year-old boy shared how he is inspired by Mr Owoseni who is a self-taught dancer and mentor to his students.

「從第一天開始，他就一直很有時間觀念。」
Daniel老師還表示，希望能夠改變當地對於男性舞者的刻板印象。

男生其實也可以跳芭蕾，他們也能跳得很好，因為芭蕾中有雙人舞的舞種，男舞者會託舉女舞者。Boys can actually do ballet and they do very well because in ballet there is something we call a pas de deux [a dance of two] where the male ballet dancer lifts the girl.
在接受法新社採訪時，Daniel老師還說，雖然在這裡大家無法負擔芭蕾高昂的教育成本，但他希望能讓當地的人們了解這門美麗的藝術。

而Anthony的媽媽也為兒子感到驕傲，表示自己每次看他跳舞都會很開心。

她向其他父母們建議，如果發現了孩子們的天賦，就要全力支持他們，這樣孩子們寶貴的天賦才會被發揮出來。

每個孩子都擁有天賦，但我們的問題是，我們不知道如何發現孩子們身上的天賦。Every child is talented but our problem is that we do not know how to discover the talent that our children have.
Proud mum Ifeoma Madu added that she feels "joy" whenever she watches her son dance.
對於Anthony而言，芭蕾已經成為他生命中的一部分，未來他想成為一名職業芭蕾舞者。
