當老外心情不好時，經常都會聽到這麼一句話「I am down.」，這表示他很失落，失意。可能大家都知道這句話的意思，然而，假如在down後面加上各種介詞又會怎麼樣呢？Be down to？Be down on？Be down for？Be down with？是不是一下子頭腦發脹，分不清了呢？

今天罐頭菌來講一下這幾個詞都有哪些區別！

1.be down to sb 由...(誰）決定，是...（誰）的責任

主要表示責任「落」在誰身上的意思，就類似「It's on me.」差不多的意思，都是表示責任，工作落在某個人身上。

After your father retires, it will be down to you to lead the company.

在你父親退休之後，引領公司的責任就落到你身上了。

2.be down on sb 批評

罐頭菌覺得這是一個比較難記得詞組，畢竟down與批評在我心中除了都是具有「負面」情感的詞彙之外，沒有其他的共同點。當然，記住就好了。

It's not fair of the boss to be so down on a new employee.

老闆這樣批評一位新員工有些不公平。

說到這個，其實有兩個與此比較相近的詞彙要拿出來講一下：

（1）be down on (one's) luck 運氣不好

同樣的結構，但後面跟的是(sb's) luck，表示某人的運氣不怎麼好

Ryan is really down on his luck these days—he just lost his job, and then he got evicted from his apartment!

裡安這幾天真的不怎麼走運，先是失去了他的工作，然後被轟出公寓。

（2）have a down on sb 不喜歡，有偏見

詞組很相似，但表達不一樣的意思，用於表示「不喜歡，偏見」。

Why do you have a down on him? I think he seems really nice.

你為什麼不喜歡他？我覺得他非常不錯。

這幾個詞組都有一點相似之處，經常容易混淆，所以要格外注意。

3.be down with sth 同意某件事，對某事有情趣

這裡的down也是沒有相關的意思，可以理解為OK，對某個事情OK。

Yeah, I'm down with seeing a movie later this evening.

好的，我非常同意晚一點去看場電影。

4.be down for 決定做某事

這個詞組本來罐頭菌不怎麼想講的，因為確實出現的頻率不高，但是時不時也會有人用。主要表示「想做某個事情」「決定做某個事情」。

The team is up for the game tonight.

隊伍今晚打算來一場比賽。
