「登長城、遊故宮、吃烤鴨、逛秀水」,北京的秀水街(Silk Street)早已是不少外國友人必打卡之處~
因為每天要面對形形色色的歪果仁顧客,秀水街售貨員們的英語也是分分鐘6到飛起 (當然也不光是英語,還有店家精通西班牙語、德語、法語等多國語言)……
而最近,一段秀水街老闆娘和歪果仁全英文高能砍價的視頻火了,實力展現了一把秀水街·店家的英語水平233333↓↓↓
視頻中,老闆娘很老練地問道:「你想試穿下嗎?」,「你出多少錢?」,展開了自己的銷售套路(笑)~
然而,沒過多久在老闆娘報出價格之後,歪果仁顧客明顯覺得價格太高了,雙方陷入了講價的僵持……
老闆娘率先祭出了「討價還價」的第一式:激將法↓↓↓
老闆娘(脾氣急躁地):「你出多少錢?」(How much do you wanna buy?)
(歪果仁顧客沒有給出正面回答)
老闆娘(氣急敗壞地):「我在問你呢!」(I ask you!)
Obviously, the woman in the video is a veteran among these 「sales elites.」 With questions including 「Do you wanna try?」 and 「How much do you wanna buy?", the sale talk starts.
However, when the lady says the price, the customer says that it is too much and the quick-tempered woman seems annoyed by the delay.
「How much do you wanna buy?", she repeats the question loudly. Looking at this 「indecisive」 customer, she yells 「I ask you!」 But actually she is not really angry, it is her selling technique.
在步步緊逼之下,這位外國小哥(小聲地)說出了自己的報價,老闆娘聽聞價格後一臉的難以置信,遂使出第二招:對比法↓↓↓
老闆娘(難以置信臉):「這可是新款!你知道一雙拖鞋多少錢嗎?如果你真有心想買的話,告訴我你覺得多少錢合適!」(This is new model. Do you know how much the slippers are? If you wanna buy, give me your best price.)
(小哥聽聞拖鞋也要500塊之後,也是一臉的難以置信)
老闆娘(再接再厲道):「這個價格沒人會賣給你!這不是女鞋、不是童鞋也不是襪子。你懂嗎?」("Nobody will sell it to you at this price. Not lady shoes, not baby shoes and not socks. You understand?)
「This is new model. Do you know how much the slippers are? If you wanna buy, give me your best price,」 the woman uses her selling skills actively.
When the buyer is still haggling, she adheres to the lecture "Nobody will sell it to you at this price. Not lady shoes, not baby shoes and not socks. You understand?」
上文中的haggle意為「講價」、「討價還價」。如:Ella showed her the best places to go for a good buy, and taught her how to haggle with used furniture dealers. (埃拉告訴她買便宜貨的最佳去處,還教她怎樣與二手家具商討價還價。)
經過幾輪討價還價後,這位外國小哥眼見講價無望,欲轉身離去,最後還是老闆娘使出了「雙方各退一步」的讚美法↓↓↓

老闆娘(誠意臉):「你知道為啥這個價賣給你嗎?因為你長得帥啊!」(I give you this price because you are very handsome.)
After several rounds of bargaining, the woman finally agrees to sell the shoes at her so-called 「cost」 price and says, 「I give you this price because you are very handsome.」
老闆娘雖然全程都在飆英文,但本君覺得最厲害的,還是她用英文說出了中文殺價的氣勢……
「你看,你不想買還在問我價格」

這段視頻上傳到微博上之後立刻走紅,引發眾多網友圍觀,雖然網友認為大姐的態度不夠禮貌,但更多人對大姐這一口「秀水街英語」是服氣的↓↓↓

「我很驚訝地發現,他們所有人在買賣東西時,英語說得都比大多數歐盟國家的人好!」
而這位網友關注的點也是有點歪了……
「他們敲計算器的速度比我上數學課時還快!」
不過,並非只有這位外國小哥撞上了會講「秀水街·實用·英語」的店家,不少歪果仁也都遇到過這樣的情況,加拿大廣播公司 (CBC) 就曾採訪過在秀水街購物的歪果仁們~
Noella TenEyck認為購物在中國簡直可以成為一項奧運賽事了~
"Shopping here should be an Olympic sport," says Noella TenEyck, who came to Beijing for the Summer Games.
「在這裡,購物應該成為一項奧運賽事,」前來北京看奧運會的Noella TenEyck說道。
TenEyck found herself competing against vendors for the gold in the sport of haggling.
TenEyck發現自己和店家們展開了爭奪「討價還價」項目金牌的比賽。
"It was culture shock," says TenEyck, who bought some jewelry for her daughter. "It's not something you do at your local store in your hometown. Some of them didn't like to budge, especially [at] the souvenir shops."
「那是場文化衝擊,」為女兒買了些珠寶的TenEyck表示。「你不會在家鄉當地的小店裡這麼做。一些人不喜歡講價,尤其是在紀念品商店裡。」
而遊客Leslie Belliveau表示,不想買東西就別和店家有眼神接觸啊!(畢竟,確認過眼神,你就是想買的人)

Take Your Time
If you can, take time and don't be rushed. If the seller isn't coming down on the item you want, walk away and peruse other stalls. You might find it cheaper elsewhere and you can use the price to drive the other vendor down.
如果可以的話,慢慢來別趕時間。如果你看中的商品價格和店家談不攏的話,就離開那家店去別家買。你或許會找著別家更便宜的店,再用那個價格和店家砍價。

A good way to defend yourself against the shopping demons that force you to pay too much for stuff you didn't really want is to decide as you look at something that it's worth to you.

Use the "Walk Away"
I love the Walk Away and I find in big touristy places like Panjiayuan Market or Pearl's Circles, it usually works quite well. After you reach an impasse and the price is still too high, I give my final offer and walk away slowly but looking pointedly at other items. Usually, I'm called back. Sometimes I'm not and I have to live with the disappointment or put my tail between my legs and go back to pay a higher price.
我喜歡「假裝要走」這個方法,而且這招在北京潘家園市場以及上海珍珠市場等旅遊景點很好用。如果你們還價陷入了僵局,價格還是太高的話,我最後會給出自己合適的價格,慢慢地假意離開,看看其他的商品。通常店家都會再把我叫回來。有時候,這法子行不通,我就只能失望離去,或者厚著臉皮回去,以更高的價格買下它。
規矩7:別對賣家感到不好意思

The vendor is making a profit, don't you worry. They are not going to sell you anything out of the goodness of their hearts. It's a game and it's fun to play. So play right back and say something like "Yes, but now I can't afford to have any dinner either!"
店家絕對能賺錢,所以不需要擔心。他們絕不會大發善心做虧本買賣。這是場很好玩的博弈。所以可以用這些話懟回去:「對呀,但我現在也吃不起晚飯了。「
規矩8:小心財物
Be Careful with Your Belongings
Crowded markets are a pick-pocket's haven. If you can, divide your cash up in several places (front pockets, money belt, wallet, purse) and don't carry your passport unless you have to.
擁擠的市場一定會有不少扒手。如果可以的話,把錢分散放在幾個地方(如前側口袋、腰包、錢包、手提袋等),如果非必要的話,不要隨身帶你的護照。

這價錢超出我的預算了。
