各當地時間3月12日，美國曝出史上最大規模大學招生欺詐案。
來自美國6個州的50人被起訴參與大學招生欺詐，行賄金額高達2500萬美元，涉及學校包括耶魯大學、史丹福大學、喬治城大學、加州大學洛杉磯分校、南加州大學、德克薩斯大學、維克森林大學等多所名校。

The Justice Department on Tuesday charged 50 people with participating in a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme that enabled privileged students with lackluster grades to attend prestigious colleges and universities.
3月12日，美國檢方起訴50人參與一起涉及數百萬美元的招生賄賂案件。特權家庭的孩子低分就能考進名校。

這是美司法部迄今起訴的最大宗大學招生舞弊案。
據報導，這一招生舞弊勾當大約從2011年就開始了：
Most of those charged either paid to get higher SAT scores or faked an athletic resume that, with the participation of a bribed college coach, helped the children get accepted to a college as a team's recruit.
這些被告的大多數要麼花錢買SAT高分，要麼偽造體育簡歷，在收受賄賂的大學教練的幫助下被大學體育隊錄取。

威廉·裡克·辛格經營著兩家升學諮詢機構，一個是加州盈利性升學機構Edge college & Career Network，該機構又叫「鑰匙」（The Key），專門為學生提供升學幫助。
他還運營著另外一家非營利性升學機構「關鍵全球基金會」（The Key Worldwide Foundation）。
辛格通過請人替考、買通考官在考試後修改成績、買通名校教練作偽證、假造體育生資格等方式，讓他們的孩子考上名校。

據檢方文件稱，辛格的非盈利機構「關鍵全球基金會」成立於2012年，是一個免稅組織。

➤ 'Bribing college entrance exam administrators to allow a third party to facilitate cheating on college entrance exams, in some cases by posing as actual students,' is the first.

➤ 'Bribing university athletic coaches and administrators to designate applicants as purported athletic recruits—regardless of their athletic abilities, even though they did not play the sport,' is the second.

➤ 'Having a third party take classes in place of the actual students, with the understanding that the grades earned in those classes would be submitted as part of the students' application,' is the third.

Huffman paid a $15,000 'charitable contribution' to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter, states the complaint. Her test was thenadministered by a proctor who had flown in from Tampa and told investigators that he 'facilitated cheating, either by correcting the student's answers after the test or by actively assisting the student during the exam.'

獨立教育顧問協會（IECA）主席Mark·Sklarow稱，「這個故事再次證明，對於那些有資源又急於讓自己的孩子再次『成功』的家長，永遠是有市場的。就像為了買名牌產品，許多人願意付出一切」。
IECA CEO Mark Sklarow said, 「The charges presented today exemplify the intense anxiety that even some wealthy parents feel about their children being admitted to their preferred colleges.」
