今年，為了增強央企的市場活力而進行的國有資產兼併與合併中，將至少有27家央企會被重組，屆時央企總量將減至80到100家。
在上面的報導中，central enterprise就是「中央企業」，簡稱「央企」，即由中央政府監督管理的國有企業。當前對央企進行的調整包括merger（兼併）、consolidation（合併）和regrouping（重組），merger指的是出價公司A收購目標公司B，合併成一個公司A，也稱「吸收合併」；consolidation 指兩公司A、B合併創立新公司C，也稱「創立合併」。此外，還有acquisition（購併），指一家公司全部或部分買下另一家公司，取得所有權。
我們通過幾個例子來看這幾個詞的用法：
