One day while walking down the street a highly successfulDirectorwas tragically hit by a bus and she died. Her soul arrivedup inheaven where she was met at the Pearly Gates by St.Peterhimself.某一天，一位非常成功的人力資源主管在街道行走時慘遭公車碰撞而死。
她的靈魂升到天堂，在天國之門她看到了聖彼得。Welcome to Heaven, said St. Peter. Before you get settledinthough, it seems we have a problem. You see, strangelyenough,weve never once had a Human Resources Director make it thisfarand were not reallysure what to dowithyou.「歡迎來到天堂，」聖彼得說道，「在你沒安頓之前，我們還有個問題。你看，非常奇怪的是，目前還沒有一個人力資源主管能升到這麼高的，所以我們還不能確定如何解決這個問題。」
No problem, just let me in, said the woman. Well, Idliketo,replied St. Peter, but I have higher orders. What weregoingto do is let you have a day in Hell and a day in Heaven andthenyou can choose whichever one you want to spend aneternityin.「還有什麼問題呀，就讓我進來不就成了。」女人說。「當然我很想這樣做，」聖彼得回答道，「但是我有更高的指令。這樣吧，我們允許你在天堂和地獄分別待一天，然後再來由你自己決定哪個地方安度來世。」
Actually, I think Ive made up my mind, I prefer to stayinHeaven,said the woman.「其實我已經決定了，我更願意帶在天堂裡。」女人說。
Sorry, we have rules... And with that St. Peter puttheexecutive in an elevator and it went down-down-downtohell.「對不起，可我們有規矩......」於是，聖彼得將這位行政主管帶到升降梯裡，電梯不斷的降啊降，來到了地獄。
The doors opened and she found herself stepping out ontotheputting green of a beautiful golf course. In the distance wasacountry club and standing in front of her were all her friends-fellow executives that she had worked with and they werealldressed in evening gowns and cheeringforher.門打開了，她發現自己踏上了一片碧綠的高爾夫球場。遠處隱約可見一個鄉村俱樂部，她的一些老朋友和人力資源的同事們身著晚禮服，向她歡呼。
They ran up and kissed her on both cheeks and they talkedaboutold times. They played an excellent round of golf and at nightwentto the country club where she enjoyed an excellent steakandlobster dinner. She met the Devil who was actually a reallyniceguy (kinda cute) and she had agreat time telling jokes anddancing.She was having such a good time that before she knew it, itwastime to leave. Everybody shook her hand and waved good-bye asshegot on the elevator. The elevator went up-up-up and opened backupat the Pearly Gates and she found St. Peter waitingforher.朋友們都向她跑來，吻她的雙頰，一起緬懷美好的舊時光。打了一圈漂亮的高爾夫後，他們帶她到鄉村俱樂部裡享用了美味的牛排和龍蝦。在那裡她還見到了魔鬼撒旦，發現他其實也挺可愛。說著笑話，跳著舞曲，歡樂的時光竟然如此快地就要結束了。在踏上電梯前時，朋友們和她一一握手告別。電梯升啊升，重新回到了天國之門，她發現聖彼得正在門口等她。
Now its time to spend a day in heaven, he said. So shespentthe next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing theharpand singing. She had a great time and before she knew it her24hours were up and St.Peter came and got her. So, youve spentaday in hell and youve spent a day in heaven. Now you mustchooseyour eternity, he said. The woman paused for a second andthenreplied, Well, I never thought Id say this, I mean, Heavenhasbeen really great and all, but I think I had a better timeinHell. So St. Peter escorted her to the elevator and again shewentdown-down-down backtoHell.「現在是時間開始你的天堂之旅了，」他說。於是她慵懶的躺在雲端，撩撥著豎琴，放聲歌唱。愉快的一天又要結束了，聖彼得來到她面前，「你已經在天堂和地獄分別度過了一天，現在可以選擇你的歸宿了，」他說道。女人停頓了一會兒回答道，「我從沒想到自己會這樣說，嗯，天堂的確不錯，但是我認為在地獄的時光更快樂。」於是聖彼得把她送到了下往地獄的電梯口。她就這樣降啊降，回到了地獄。
When the doors of the elevator opened she found herselfstandingin a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. Shesaw herfriends were dressed in rags and were picking up the garbageandputting it in sacks. The Devil came up to her and put hisarmaroundher.但梯門打開時，她發現自己站在一個荒涼的廢墟裡，滿處都是垃圾和汙穢。她看到自己的那些朋友們竟然穿著破爛不堪，正在將垃圾撿到麻袋裡。撒旦向她走來，伸手摟住了她。
I dont understand, stammered the woman, yesterday I washereand there was a golf course and a country club and we atelobsterand we danced and had a great time. Now all there is, isawasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable.TheDevillooked at her and smiled. Yesterday we were recruitingyou,todayyourestaff...「我不明白，」女人結結巴巴地說，「昨天我在這的時候，還是一片高爾夫球場，還有鄉村俱樂部，我們還吃了龍蝦，唱歌跳舞，非常快樂。但現在這裡卻只剩下一片廢墟，垃圾遍地，我的那些朋友們也痛苦不堪。」魔鬼看著她，笑道，「昨天我們在這裡招聘新人，今天你已經成為我們的一員了......」
